I got my 16GB blue one about two hours ago. The color looks great and I just slipped my GNex's SIM card in and it activated with no problems.

The reception dbm numbers seems about the same as my GNex but speedtest shows the speed as much much faster.

Have you rooted it yet?:D

I heard the wifi toggle is gone in the notifications menu and replaced by a shortcut to the wifi settings, is this true?

I'm curious about the antenna since the Galaxy Nexus was plagued with signal issues.

Those are the reports I'm also waiting to read. I've ordered the GS III and am waiting for delivery. If it is reported to be as buggy as the Galaxy Nexus I'll just leave it in the box and wait for the Razr Maxx HD to be released. My Droidx is still performing just fine.

I don't see WiFi toggle. Also the standard power widget is not available.

Never had signal issues but comparing dBm, it seems about same as my nexus. Same location, both are reading about -90.

Re: Just got my S3

Network signal seems fine.
-89dBm 51asu

EDIT
Seems to be in the mid 80's right now. I am deep in the basement of a building though. I'll surface & check it again. BRB. My boss understands...its cool. His will be in Monday.

it was at 78dBm

hows that compare to old phones? That is really good because the lowest my nexus ever got was in the 80's and that was rare. This seems like a really great sign if it holds true. That is great signal especially for in the basement of a building.

Why's it have kies air? I hope we do not have to use Kies for updates like other gsm versions have had to.

So looking at the screenshots, seems this is what's preloaded from Verizon in total:

  • Apps (looks like the VZ Apps Center or whatever)
  • Color (last I checked, this was owned by Verizon)
  • Mobile Hotspot (can't consider this to be bloat)
  • My Verizon Mobile (also don't really consider this to be bloat since it's useful)
  • Vcast Tones (definitely bloat)
  • VZ Navigator (in the era of free GPS, this stuff needs to go)

Overall, not too bad I suppose. I'm sure none of that can be deleted, but hopefully at least disabled and definitely hidden.

Can anyone who has the phone tell me how loud the phone is, say, compared to other phones? I have a friend who is severely hearing impaired and is trying to find a loud phone to upgrade to.
