Shipping notification....Who's first?

REALLY?!?!?!?

I got the same message this morning... crud. Looks like I will be in front of the Sprint store early Friday morning again...
 
The Galaxy Nexus sold out online in 3 days and one of my buddies ordered on the second day and still got his the Friday before it launched (launched on Sunday so he got it 2 days early) He got shipping confirmation on Thursday. So I think we'll see confirmation emails later today into tomorrow and phones will start coming in tomorrow for people close to distribution areas and Thursday and Friday for those farther away.

This is my opinion (and what I'm hoping for) but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not til next week.

Sales just told me not to use the DM60 order number:

Jessica: Please use the order number oy-shso-xxxxxxxxxx when checking your order status online. The DM60 number is a backoffice warehouse number that will not have updated information if you check the status online.

She also said everything looks good with my order that it is still on schedule to arrive before Friday. She also said to check back within 24hrs for an updated status. (Mine also says backordered).
 
Okay, my order also has the "backorder" message, but their online chat rep assured me it is NOT backordered but "on hold until it's ready to ship". Hopefully that's correct, and honestly, it probably is. We'll see!

I also just got off the phone with them as mine says its backordered as well. They told me that their system simply defaults your order to 'backordered' if the order has been placed for an extended amount of days without a shipping update.

All is well! He also told me they expect to have shipment info today.
 
This back order message everyone is talking about...i got it day one right after I pre ordered...literally 4 mins after the timer clicked zero....this jus means most likely all preorders are gonna get jerked
 
Maybe I should change the title of this thread to "Who received there phone" since most likely they will just show up, no shipping notice.
 
None of the rest of us have gotten that message. He's probably hosed.

Checked order status and it was last updated today but no status info has changed.....jus says the same thing about back ordered
 
Sprint is gonna mess up this whole thing....you would think with this phone being there "flagship" they would handle it more properly....again ill say if I dont get it by release ill be waiting on the sg3...or ill see if I can get it from my local store.

Agreed. How do you NOT know that this phone will sell HUGE numbers?!?!? The same thing happened with the Palm Pre, then the OG EVO, now this?!?!? It makes no sense to me.

However, I will not be waiting for an SG3, no matter how late this phone shows up. Besides the EVO being a superior piece of equipment (IMHO), if you try to wait for the SG3, you'll be signing up to go through this same thing again later when it releases. Just go ahead and suck it up now and wait for your phone, I'd say. :)

The shipping time frame for the HTC EVO 4G LTE pre-order has changed. The following was sent out internally today:

What you need to do:

Effective immediately specialists should communicate the following shipping times to customers pre-ordering the HTC EVO 4G LTE:
We will do our best to ship your new HTC EVO 4G LTE to you before others get a glimpse on Friday, May 18th. During this pre-order period, we will send you a confirmation email. An email with your tracking number will be sent upon shipping.
Beginning 5/15 at 11:01 pm CST specialists should communicate the business as usual timeframe of 2-5 business days to the customer.
 
We will see.....i have the phone shipping to my business and im gonna ask the ups man to check for me...cause at least with business deliveries they get it to you during business hours
 
Take a deep breath guys. You're causing yourselves a lot of stress for no good reason. The shipping message has changed half a dozen times since we order the damn thing and this is most likely just another little hiccup in the system.

I'm as anxious to get this phone as anyone but geez..... You're gonna give yourselves an aneurysm.

I have been reading all the post in this thread and I am as anxious as the next person but most of us went through the exact same thing with the OG EVO. Has anyone took a look down memory lane to see how this played out 2 years ago?

Looking better? You do realize that exactly the same status that it has been for most of the last week, right?

I'm still going with some timer tripped all the statuses to the "backordered" message. Something like if an order hasn't been fulfilled in a week, change the status to "backordered". Now that they are having to field 12 million calls from irate customers, someone went in and changed the status back.
 
Honestly im not all that worked up...its jus if I dont get it prior to launch id have been better off jus going into the store thats all...cause the sales people will gladly give you someone elses phone who didnt bother to come in to pick it up
