Shipping notification....Who's first?

You must ride the short bus, so I'll let it slide this time.

I believe that I was asking for the source for the official HTC statement, not all of the articles that are being posted. It's odd to me that I can't find that statement anywhere else...

P.S. I have been reading the thread

Hug & Kisses

The official HTC statement has been sent to all of the relevant blogs.....duh. There have been multiple sources, including AndroidCentral. Read the thread.

Hey guys I don't mean to be mean. But my brother is a district manager here in Colorado for sprint. He says most stores have received there inventory. He also said cooperate stores get first priority and online orders are second. Secondly if your waiting for a tracking... keep waiting. He says there almost 30000 orders for this phone alone. Not including 3rd party vendors.... Last but not least he says you should be getting your orders the day before release if not the day of.... Thanks guys.....

Sent from my SPH-D710 using Android Central Forums

30,000 is miniscule -- if that number is true, I have no doubt we will all be getting our phones.

Okay, I saw the statement on The Verge (from HTC), so now just waiting on Sprint.

All I have to say though is......why did this have to go down this close to release?

Well gee...don't you think it is obvious?

Apple timed this action deliberately to cause as much financial damage and embarrassment to Sprint and HTC as possible.

I just chatted with Sprint. Here's is the transcript:

Jessica: Thank you for pre-ordering the new HTC EVO 4G LTE. Your order has been processed and is at our warehouse awaiting shipping. The launch date is May 18th and you can expect to receive your order before or by the public launch. I am unable to speculate on an exact shipping date for your order, but you will receive an email with your tracking information as soon as the order ships out. Thank you for your patience as we are working very hard to ship your order out before or on the launch date.
Jessica: You can check your order status on Sprint | Check Your Order Status and the tracking number will also be there when your order ships out. For more information regarding pre-orders please visit Learn about pre-ordering select devices
You: My order is in your warehouse and not held up at US Customs, is that what you are saying?
Jessica: I am not aware of this hold up at the US Customs.
Jessica: Please Click Here to get the latest news one device releases and other Sprint news.
You: So I will definitely receive this order by May 18th?
Jessica: Yes, that is correct.

LOL and you think that Sprint was/should be surprised. But they weren't. The only ones that are surprised are use, the users who thought we'd have a phone.

Good one Sprint, HTC and Apple.

So how are we going to stop Apple from owning the market?

Google needs to go to bat for OEMs that use android or else they will continue to get owned by apple and MS in litigations.

Very classy of Sprint not to pull down the pre-order site.

Not sprints fault. That would be crApple doing their best to piss people who buy android devices from one of the best selling android OEMs. Its the only way they can try and compete is by buying up patents in order to sue specific companies that cut into thier market due to better products.

Again crApple probably timed in a last ditch attempt to piss people off or to falter sales a bit. Even though only a small percent would cancel their preorder for a iphone. Either way its crApple doing what they do best...dirty tactics to keep their crap from losing more market share...

Seeing as how Sprint recently bet the farm on the iPhone I doubt if Apple is deliberately trying to cause embarrasment and financial damage to Sprint. HTC, yes. Sprint just suffers from collateral damage.

Those are universal responses from Sprint. When I pre-ordered my Galaxy Nexus and ordered my iPhone 4s, I received the same exact responses from Sprint that you received. Of course, the date was different though.

I'm sorry you are right. I shouldn't ask for a source or question what anyone on the internet says.

Anyway, I have been reading the threat and at first when the story broke on the verge they didn't have the HTC statement in there. So again i'm sorry to trouble people with a link to a source.

all the girls at sprint are jessica. i called the sprint order hotline and the guy kept saying "im not lying to you sir" to which i said "dude nobody said anything about any lying" sprint should be on twitter updating people about this whole deal. just tell us whats up so we can stop reading forums.

Its true crApple doesnt care who they hurt (including beneficiaries or themselves) just as long as their intended target receives a bit of pain. Honestly its all in vain as HTC will do just fine and I forsee this phone being a huge hit despite all this.

There were several HTC One X's sold before their backorder became a reality. I am not in the business world, but I would assume that shipments would not have just only been coming through customs today (or last night). I'm sure Sprint and third parties have plenty in stock now and feel as if though the replenish units will be allowed to get through customs as soon as they figure it all out with Apple. It's a mess. But I think we're going to be getting them before or on launch day just like the lucky ones got their HTC One Xs. But there might be a situation where restock will be delayed a bit.

HTC is still behind Samsung in Android smartphone sales, and to me personally, HTC had a below-average 2011. The HTC Rezound, and "maybe" the EVO3D were decent last year, but what other HTC phones turned a profit for HTC last year?

Evo Shift, Evo Design, Desire, Wildfire, Sensation?

"We will do our best to get it to you on or before the national launch."

Well, at least now we know why Sprint changed the text from their order status page from "May 18" to "national launch."

Just a little linguistics sleight of hand, so as not to cause immediate alarm.

Never assume.
