Should I buy the Google Nexus 5 or wait for the Nexus 6

That phone has been talked about for over 6 weeks now and they just started doing a 150 ''invite'' giveaway, yeah that's 150 devices and there are like 50.000 people wanting one.
Go for the oneplus one if you want a phone in the year 2024, otherwise go for the Nexus 5 and be happy with it, the first ''Android Silver'' will not launch before Q1 2015 ( check evleaks )

Google is killing the Nexus line and releasing the Android Silver line. So the Nexus 5 will be the last of its kind.

And this is a great thing if done right- if prices remain low and stock Android... it means we will finally have CHOICES as well as freedom. Imagine being able to choose from SEVERAL Nexus-like devices!

I'm hoping that this is where it is going.... Maybe the Nexus 5's success (the CEO was quite pleased with its sales) emboldened Google to take it the next step.... rather than have them go out and have a company like LG build them a Nexus phone, they'll allow companies to come to them.... Bring in a device that follows the Nexus philosphy and allow Google to handle the marketing and sales.... Most of the rumors about Silver state that Google is going to be shouldering the costs in some way, shape or form...

If I could walk into a T-Mobile store and in the corner see a Android Silver display, with value priced, high end devices from the likes of HTC, LG, Motorola.... all running clean versions of Android and developer friendly. That would rule.

I mean, it's needed.... I just saw a video where the humble $129 Moto E was quicker and more snappy than a Galaxy S5.... Stop the bloat madness.

Don't wait around for the successor to the Nexus 5. If you need or want a new phone now and you're thinking about the N5, buy it now. But, not on contract. The price is so low that it seems ridiculous to purchase it on contract, unless your carrier gives you a lower monthly bill if you buy on contract. Like someone else said you'll always be waiting for the next best phone.

Personally, I'm more interested in the MX2/MX+1 than the Nexus 6.

Also, didn't Evleaks say Nexus 6 doesn't and won't exist? Making way for the Silver program next year?

Does evleaks work for Google? They might be reliable, but the aren't 100% accurate. We are in a wait and see approach...

That being said, the Nexus 5 is a great phone, and should be useful for quite a while... I wouldn't hold out for, what, 5 months?

There's no reason a Nexus 5 shouldn't last until next year, at least. And the price point is so nice that you could buy one and still get the Nexus 6 this year, assuming it happens, and not be out much money.

The Nexus 5 is still a very relevant phone and will be for some time depending on what you want to do with it.

Dont get into another contract, thats the mistake I made with my last 1 when I knew I should have left gone for a sim only plan and used the current phone.
