OK, i really like the clear stuff, but i'm at a complete loss as to how to install it. Got the phone a couple weeks ago and I read through this thread and now i'm more confused. Could someone lead me in the proper direction. Rooted, and roms, and backups, i'm lost. Thanks
I don't have links handy, but look through xda-developers forums and PPCGeeks forums. You'll find loads of discussion. Skim through them, especially any HOW-TO: style posts. When things get too technical, ask. If they don't answer don't feel bad. And feel free to ask questions in a thread here. There's a few of us that are playing with and customizing our Heros on the site (like Noj above) and we're all pretty friendly![]()
320x480 for the lock screen
640x480 makes a great semi-static wallpaper across all 7 screens.
Attached is a PSD of bottom dock placment if you want one. Drop your wallpaper in the bottom layer and you're set.
you have to root it to take screenshots right? :/
Is the Dock only for rooted Hero's?
If not where do i put the file?
sorry i'm a little new to the android system.
Kratos the PSD file is to be opened in Photoshop. Photoshop allows you to edit an image in a series of layers. So what gbhil is saying is put whatever you want on a layer under the dock graphic and then save it, for example as a jpg, which you would then put on your phone and use as a wallpaper.

Spruced things up a bit. My wife and Daughter fussed at me for having a phone with an amazing UI and not using it, so I appeased them

how do you get the gmail app icon to show the unread mail count?
it's from the market, called Gmail unread. Don't have a link handy as I'm at my work PC, but a search of the market should find it. IMO well worth the 99 cents the dev is charging
