My phone says it works in English (UK) in the language and keyboard settings section.
But there is only a $ sign.
I need a ? sign.
I don't use any $s.
I do spend ?s
The phone is sold widely in the UK, but without apparently the correct currency symbol.
The "English" keyboard that comes as standard appears to be American only.
Is there a way to get a ? sign in?

Swype beta has it. ?, one of the options by long pressing the L button. You can find it at beta.Swype.com

Thanks, I'll look at that, but I'm happy with the provided keyboard, except when I need to refer to money, and wouldn't really want to make a radical change.
Also, I find it incredible to believe that they market the thing in the UK with a UK keyboard and can't be bothered to provide the correct currency symbol.

SOLVED
But worth putting the solution here for anyone else stuck with this.
It seems to be for any/many HTC phones, I found the solution in a query about a different model, but it worked.
The keyboard has a symbol in the 12# section ( i.e. numbers and symbols). I'd always assumed this just gave a 1/2 but it doesn't. It goes to page 2 of 2.
So, press the 12# key, then press the 1/2 key. This gives page two of symbols, most of which are pretty useless because they're just smileys :-)
But also there is the ? Yen and Euro symbol and some non-English punctuation, like the Spanish inverted ? sign.

You found your answer before I could post, but I do wish I could swap the dollar and the pound sign. The extra taps for pound signs are frustrating!
