Sim Card NOT Included?

Hey guys -

I was at my local corporate store around 9AM this morning. There were a few issues at-hand, including 3G connection problems, but they solved those rather quickly. The biggest surprise I found was that the reps had to go to the back and get the sim cards out of their inventory, because they were not included in the Thunderbolts box. I asked them if this would cause an issue for those who ordered online, and they all looked at eachother in horror like, "oh **** tomorrows gonna suck."

So my question is....was the sim card supposed to be packaged with the Thunderbolt? Because these employees all thought it was...

They would. The phone would be completely unusable.

They had stacks of the cards separate from the box that the phone is in. More than likely the online orders will either get the card put into the Thunderbolt box or it will be put in separately with the instructions and the Thunderbolt in a larger box like they always do.

I just looked at my online order and didn't see a SIM included. on the phone with Employee sales.

I would imagine you'll have it included in the phone. I doubt it would say "SIM CARD" in your order status.

The SIM is included with the purchase of the phone and it has to be activated to your account. If done online i assume they will activate it, install it or toss it in the box and ship... I don't think they have missed this one

They don't activate it before shipping else your current phone wouldn't work anymore until you got the Bolt.

I believe once you receive the phone you have to call to activate it (not *228).

When I ordered my 4g aircard online the sim wasn't included in the phone packaging. They included it as an accessory without me having to request it. I imagine it'll be the same with 4g phones. I'm not worried.

Even if for whatever reason it's not there, I imagine worst case scenario you have to go to a vzw store and get one.

According to telesales it is included with every online order. When you order the bolt it won't go through w/o the SIM.

I ordered mine over the phone this morning, and right before the order was complete the rep said ohhh wait, i have to go get your SIM information set up before i complete the order so i would most likely think that it will be shipped with my phone

I'm a corporate customer and that was in the email for me to confirm my order...maybe that's why? Not sure...
