Simple Fast Root Method With Rooted 1.47.651.1 Stock ROM with NO ADBs...Check Here!

I was able to finish the entire process. How do I know if I correctly installed the ROM? I was able to go through everything without any errors but the phone seems the same to me. I still see the sprint apps.

I installed the emulator and it says process com.android.term has stopped unexpectedly.

I was able to install and use wireless tether last night.

It does seem that you have rooted, if you want a true test, try flashing a different ROM. Keep trying Terminal though, it makes things easier.

there were two terminal apps. Does it make a difference? I am pretty sure I am rooted but not sure about the rom. I dont see any difference between stock and the rom that I thought I put on the phone.

I would use the one I recommended as it works the best. "Terminal Emulator" is the full name. You could try out the other one if you wanted. The ROM you are running has sense also, so it will look the same as the stock since it's based off it.

one more question. What is the simplest way to put a different rom on the phone? Are there different instructions for each? I looked through the sticky on the different roms.

Some of them might be, but the one I installed was pretty straightforward. Before you begin make sure you can get into the recovery menu. Go back into the Terminal Emulator and type in "su" accept the permissions then type in reboot recovery. Tell me if it reboots into a weird menu type thing.

Good, you got the menu I was looking for. Click on recovery and it should bring you to clockwork (assuming it's installed) and you can use that to flash a new ROM.

once I click on recovery it takes me to a screen with green lettering. is that clockwork? I have not put any roms on my sd card.

It should also say ClockworkMod Recovery on the bottom in white letters. If that is it then you are golden. This isn't the only way to flash ROM's but i like it the best.
