Skinning battery/alarm/3G/1X on Gingerbread Droid X

I have been trying for 3 days to change my 3G/1X icons and I've had no success. I Metamorph'd and Ninjamorph'd my desired icons and nothing happened. Anyone know why its not working?

I have also been trying to change the battery. I have the Honeycomb battery now and its working fine (by 10's and everything). When I try and Ninjamorph my custom icons it works fine, the icons work perfectly... The problem is my Market disappears from my phone. I tried the jrummy fix, I tried installing an .apk, I tried restoring through Titanium Backup, nothing worked. Any ideas out there?

The files are located in a different location and the files can not be accessed with Metamorph, the only way I have been able to change these is to open the SystemUI and edit files and then place them back into file and flash it back into system,

I appreciate the tip, but thats only half correct. I was able to skin the battery using a .zip, just not the one I made. I used Metamorph with the .zip attached with no issues. When I replaced the .png files and rezipped it I lost my market. Literally it disappeared from the phone... gone from my home screen, gone from my app drawer. The same thing happened when I went in with Ninjamorph and tried it out. I was able to Metamorph a bunch of stuff... blue tooth, call, missed call, GPS, and, battery.

The alarm is just annoying me because I was able to make changes to the calendar without issue, but when I try to change the alarm nothing happens.

It really isnt a big deal, but it should be so simple, and its just killing me how much it isnt working.

The battery info is still in same location but some image files are named diffrently but Metamorph will work on the Framework-res.apk still but Wifi, bluetooth, 3G, 1X and reception meter are located in SystemUI apk and metamorph does not write to this file.

I have played with script many ways and just cant access systemui.apk except as I instructed.

Also I just realized the battery file you posted was the one I put together for GB build #1 leak and the changes made to new build just requires a different approach...

I changed mine with no issues, but like I said you have to open apk and change images and re-compress for it to work because MetaMorph can not access files needed..

Thanks for the tip. I have no idea how to go about opening up the apk and re compressing it. Ninjamorph was simple to use hopefully it gets updated to allow us to change those images or someone can come up with a simple .zip for people like me to flash

The only thing about a zip would be that the apk that get flash has to be complete, so if you install a rom that changed some of the same files that you want to keep, you will lose those unless the one that put it together extracts the files you want to keep and place them into the new file..

Here is the zip that I put together for my use, they have the files that are in my screen shot... if you want to try them out.

Just mount and flash this with Bootstrap...

oh that makes sense thank you for the .zip but I am attempting to change my 3G to a 4G and 1x to 3G i believe yours just changes the 3G image to a different 3G image? Looks great just not want I am trying to achieve at the moment

I really don't get why you want to do this but here is one like the way you reported that I put together with some images I already had laying around...

Mount and Flash with Bootstrap...

There really is no reason to want this other than for looks I just think it looks kinda cool to have the 4G logo there lol I know its dumb. Thank you so much I really appreciate your efforts with this

Any chance you can repack my battery icons? And possibly the Gala 3G/1X? I don't think I can do it from my Mac, but if I can I can't figure it out.

Here is 3G and 1X for Gingerbread made from files... Flash with Bootstrapper and I will see about doing battery for Meramorph..

UPDATE: Heres battery zip, use Metamorph to install NumberBattery_GB.zip

Not to be a pain, but there is no file...also when you say flash with bootstrapper do you mean an update.zip? I've never done mods like this.

Unfortunately the battery .zip you made created the same problem I had when I tried to make it. I Metamorph'd it and the phone rebooted, except my market was gone. The standard icon was replaced by the default icon that comes up when an app is no longer installed. Clicking on it brought up a message that said requested activity could not be launched.


And the 3G/1X didn't work either. It changed my notification bar black and the 3G icons did not work.

The pictures attached show the notification I received when I tried the battery, even after I switched back and the other two show the 3G/1X.

The 1X appears to be displaying in the screen shot, what do you mean it didn't take. I used the images you posted

I WILL RELOAD GB LATER AND TEST THE FILES..

UPDATE: Tested files and both are working as designed, the Market is unaffected but I did notice that the files you gave for 3G did not have transparency so images was fixed and also placed the blue status bar back into apk.

All have been verified and should work without issues...
