Skinomi TechSkin

Whats wrong with it?

The installation - you have to take a sticky piece of plastic and spray water and soap on it, it leaves a ton of bubbles and actual moisture between the protector and the screen - they say it'll go away in 12 - 24 hours, it just feels kind of all wrong.

So at first you're left with this thing all bubbled up so you take their card to push the bubbles to the side, only the protector is kind of thick and the card actually gets snagged on some of the bubbles, they say those scratches will go away as well.

I've put a lot of protectors on, first time I went with this brand and I'm just thinking their has to be a better way. The Seidio, Boxwave, Otterbox style ones seem like a better idea.

When I pulled this one off there was a fair amount of glue still kind of on the screen, it just doesn't feel right.

I just think this shouldn't be much of a hassle, really with other companies it's not - I just wanted to get one now.

I have it on for now and will update tomorrow but something tells me knowing there is some kind of residue sitting there I'll probably peel it off in a few minutes...

If you already pulled it off once, it'll probably never be right again. I've had experience with those type of screen protectors. They are really good if you can get them on right. It took a few screw-ups for me to get good at it.

It is a pain but, if you can do it right the imperfections will go away like they said and, it will look nice.

Is a protective skin really needed anyway? I personally can't stand their texture compared to a naked display.

I'm sure it could look nice it just doesn't seem worth the process of not being able to use it and deal with bubbles and rainbows for a week.

I have a Skinomi on my captivate and have not had any problems with it. The quality is about on par with the previous Zagg protectors I had used on previous iPhones. The Skinomi is very similar to the first few generations of the invisible shields that required you to spray their "special" solution and then apply the protector. While challenging to apply and get right, when it's done right it comes out really nice and seems to last.

I have had mine on since the first week of august last year and have not had any issues with peeling or bubbling since applying it.

I'm glad that it is good for some people. I have read a lot of mixed reviews on it. I think for me it would of been cool if they described the installation, the feel of the protector, the 12-24 hour down time before I bought it.

The first time I put it on it was on fine but just doesn't seem worth the wait or bubbles for any amount of of time compared to what will be released soon. I prefer a more glass feeling protector that I can use right away, doesn't load up with bubbles, doesn't leave a residue and doesn't require me to put water on my tablet's screen.
