I'm in the same position. This is my first android. How would I specifically go about downloading this app and installing it on my evo 3d? Thanks in advance for any help!

First go into your settings. Then go to applications and check mark unknown sources. Come back here and click on the link I provided on post 1. It will download. Once done. Pull down your notification bar and click on it. Then click install. And Viola! ;-)

Just don't forget to uninstall your current version of Skype, if you have one installed, from your phone first before installing this one.

Has anyone here had issues using it with iPhone 4 users? I skyped my friend in switzerland with me using the Evo 3d and him using his PC and it work flawlessly. Then I skyped my brother in Germany and he was driving in his convertible Smart car while skyping me...lol...I could see and hear him fine, buy my video stopped after about 5 or so seconds of it working. I had to turn the camera off and back on so it would work for another 5 or so seconds.
Anyone else have that problem too?

Just install update - work wonderful with front camera!

You need to have it running obviously and have to have a friend on Skype on as well that's online at the same time. If they are, you can tap on them and either make a video call or a regular call, depending on what phone the other person has. If the other person is on a PC or Mac and has a webcam, you can video call them as well.
I unistalled it again, it kept wanting to sign me back in after I singed out eventhough there was no password entered, and when I did actually want to sign in, it wouldn't take my password. I had to restart the phone and then it signed in by itself. Tried doing a call with yet another iPhone 4 person again with the same result of the camera freezing on my phone. After a while, the whole app just froze and I had to kill it with the built in task manager.
Waiting on the official app.

i don't see anything on this app for video talk. i can call my wife who has the nexus s 4g and she has the skype app on her phone. is there a button that i'm not seeing? tried the menu button but no video app

If you installed the one from the market then it won't work. You need to download the one from post 1.

do i upload this by using my phone internet or do i use it by using a computer and then transfering the file to my phone

You can type the URl form the OP right in the phone browser. It will download the file. After it downloads then just go to your notifications and click on the notification for the downloaded file (it will be an .apk). It will install once you click on it.
