Slight problem with Evo 3d and Slight Lag on Market and some App

Re: Slight problem with Evo 3d and Slight Lag on Market and some

What kind of scores are you guys getting in quadrant. In the reviews I saw benchmarks of 2600+. I'm getting 1500-1900 without a live wallpaper, after using a task manager to clear out memory, and a reboot. It is almost like one the cores is dead, but I'm sure the phone wouldn't work at all if that was the case. I don't want to do a full reset because I just got everything set back up again.

Re: Slight problem with Evo 3d and Slight Lag on Market and some

:'( Not only am I having a lag in the Market and FB but when I type a long email or text message the keyboard slows down to a crawl. Letters take a couple of presses to input. Never had this problem with the EVO 4G despite having 1/2 the ram and memory of the 3D. I've been going back and forth with HTC about this and they informed me that they can't guarantee a fix before my 30 day return window. Unbelievable. The lag started 2 days ago and is irritating as hell. It doing it now

I'm calling HTC as soon as I get home and see what they have to say. I know all phones have bugs but this is getting ridiculous.

Talked to HTC (North America) and he said that this is the first he's heard of a the lag problem. He told me posting on forums is one thing but people need to call HTC so that they can keep a tab on issues to address. He gave me the usual (clearing all data, hard reset, etc,) all of which I already tried without success. I have to use FlexT9 to input because the lag is so pronounced on HTC and Smartkeyboard Pro. The scary thing is it's getting worse. So all those affected with this lag, make sure to call HTC asap. Open 6a to 1a everyday.

Re: Slight problem with Evo 3d and Slight Lag on Market and some

What I do notice is when I wake the phone and turn the screen on from being asleep I can spin the carousel homescreens 1 time or so in each direction with zero lag pretty much. Then wait a few seconds and do that again and again each direction as soon as it stops and the lag starts. It's a hitch and a slight stutter as opposed to lag. It's as if something is running in the background that wasn't running at first and is either causing the gpu driver to mess up or something is stressing the cpu causing the hitches. It's annoying as hell and I've become this OCD homescreen spinning moron as a result. :( I can't stop spinning the dam carousel lol. I also have an issue with my visual VM not working since the day I got the phone and my power button up top is a bit harder to press than it should be. As a result I called Sprint and will have a new E3D replacement here on tuesday. It's in route as we speak and I have the tracking number from UPS. The funny thing is The first day the phone was fine no lag at all and I'm not sure if one of the OTA updates caused the issue or an app but either way I'm getting a new one.

On a side note...my wife's E3D doesn't have the same hitching mine does. Albeit her's does hitch slightly sometimes when I sping her homescreens over and over but not as often or as much as mine. I've tried taking off my live nexus wallpaper and just using a regular wallpaper but it doesn't change anything.

Re: Slight problem with Evo 3d and Slight Lag on Market and some

Have you guys tried turning off the fast boot setting?

Menu>Settings>Power

Un-check Fast Boot and power down the phone. Yank the battery, re-insert battery, reboot.

All fast boot does is when active, and you power down the phone, it goes into hibernation instead of powering off completely. It suspends the system to memory. But it doesn't play nice with some apps. I'm not sure why HTC has this set to on from the factory, but I think it would be better if they didn't.

Ok so just caalled HTC CS just to make sure they document my issues. She was very nice and logged everything I told her along with taking all my info and my imei number from the phone etc etc. She tanked me for the call and we hung up.

Ya you know I thought of that and never tried it. I'll do that. Since I had intentionally turned that off in gingerbread on my OG Evo.

Thanks for the tip. I'm gonna give it a try. I'll try anything to get this Str8 besides a hard reset. Too much work to get everything back the way I like ;)

Bummer, I already had the box unchecked so this is not the answer in my situation. This lag just started a couple of days ago. I'll back track to see if an app or something is causing this conflict.
