Smart lock trusted places not working anymore

I updated Maps yesterday and I believe smart lock is now working.
I also added a completely different address that is several miles from my home address and work, so I don't think that's what has caused it to work now.
Just my observation.

Nope. I now have everything updated to the latest versions, Lollipop 5.1, Maps 9.6.1, Play Services 7.0.99, and this piece of **** still doesn't work.

There's definitely some funky stuff going on with locations - at the same time Trusted Locations started failing any Google Now reminders set to Home also starting failing.

I believe it is finally working for me. The problem is that I didn't do anything to get it to work. Which doesn't help anyone else. Sorry about that.

I have on body detection, face unlock, and three locations for trusted places. I've left my phone sorting down at my house charging, picked it up and it was instantly unlocked. Same for work.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To further add to this mystery, trusted locations appears to work on my smartphone, but not my tablet. Sigh.

Mine started working again yesterday. Sorry I was wrong, had to add all my neighbors to get it to work.

Worked for me, seems to suggest something about the accuracy of the location tracking.
I'm on a Moto X 2nd. Time to see how long this fix lasts.

Update: I just removed my neighbors, left with just "Home" from Google Maps, and it still works. Weird.

Couldn't get this to work with my Nexus 7 , Android 5.1 until I manually added my home address using the search option in "Add trusted place" (don't use "Select this location" ). I now have my Home address "From Google Maps" and the manually entered copy of my home address in the trusted places list. Seems like the bug is related to Google Maps selected addresses?

This WORKED for me: Nexus 5 with Lollipop 5.1!! Thank you! It seems the problem relies on dificulties with maps recognizing the location automatically. So, follow the Goffer1 instructions: DO NOT use/click "Select this location" option. Input the adress manually and it should work.

Touch wood I too seem to have this working again, Google seriously need to fix their location reporting accuracy though.

Welp, restarted my phone and the fix broke, had to delete and re-add. I've tested virtually everything, It's seemingly random when it wants to work.
Google, you can do so much, but you can't get a simple location service to function. :I

My Smart Lock Trusted Places has stopped working now since about 4 weeks ago, it is very annoying that it no longer
works as was a very useful function.

I tried setting a trusted place to my neighbours address and it started working again, but after a couple of
hours it stops working and I just get the lock screen back again , very annoying.

Come on Google sort your $7!T out and get this working again please!

Same problem here. Tried all suggestions and can't get it it work. UGH!!! They broke one of the best features of lollipop!

The map shows my location at the house across the street, so I tried adding that as a trusted place. Still didn't work. So I went to Play Services and cleared the cache. After that, it started working again, and has been working flawlessly since.

Here is what worked for me on my N6 and N9.

Turn off smart unlock on your home and work and remove any other addresses.

under security in the advanced section choose trusted agents
Turn off smart unlock
back out (might not be necessary)
go back in and turn it on

Now add back in your addresses.

Hope this helps.

Worked Thanks

Another spot of weirdness is that I can only get it to work for one location.

Hello all,

The problem is google play services. Wait for update or download new version at apkmirror

Best regards

Matthias

I downloaded the new Google Play services and still have the same issue. Turns out that it's the new version Gmail is what's disabling the Smart Lock feature. The only solution would be to roll back to the factory version of Gmail for the Nexus 6.
