smart lock

hey everyone, its been so long. since the note 4. finally back with the note 8 and loving it. ran into a minor issue today with the smart lock, i have my home set, so it stays unlocked howver since a few hours ago it requires my password or fingerprint, any help would be much appreciated

Location locks work only temporarily. If you don't unlock your device after a set period of time, the device will ask for your secure lock credentials to unlock (and if still in the location, keep it unlocked for that period).

yeah it says 4 hours, then it would require the passcode, can't seem to get it working at all now though

Do you have location services set on High Accuracy mode? If you go to Maps, does it show your correct location without a big 'blue halo' around the main blue dot? If so, try deleting the location and re-adding it. Also make sure that you don't have any Device Administrators that could be restricting the use of Smart Unlocks (some corporate e-mail accounts add this security policy to your phone if you add them).

Mine hasn't worked at all so if I want it unlocked at home I have to turn whatever locking setting (usually fingerprint/pin) off and turn on swipe.

Mine doesn't really work with location either and to be honest none of my Android phones have. I will check my location in Maps and I will be nicely in the little area of effect but it still won't unlock.

I have found using bluetooth devices to activate smart unlock works much better. Connecting to your computer and then making that a smart unlock device works great.

Thats a good idea will give that a try, didn't realise how much i'd miss this feature, very frustrating when something just randomly stops working

at last i have it working again, cleared the saved address and re added it seems to do the trick

That's a good idea, I'll give that a shot too

Did you do that on the smart lock screen or did you do that in google maps as well?

I have my Gear watch set as a Trusted Device so that when my watch is on me and connected to the phone I can bypass the security screen.
