my wife has an unrooted D2G that ever since she got GB on has been having trouble with several things on her phone, but mostly with receiving text messages. The problem is she isnt...it will stop receiving them every so often (once a day maybe) and she has to restart the phone and then they all come through at once. I've done several searches in the past few days but havent come up with anything, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also as a bonus question, she has been saying that ever since the update, several apps (words with friends, mainly) take forever to load and then even longer to load individual games, has anyone experienced that as well?

Thanks,
Sam

uninstall, reboot, and reinstall any apps that are giving you trouble. if its installed on froyo it can give you problems in gingerbread. I had the same problem on my optimus. as far as the text messaging, im having the same problems and have no idea what to do??? was hopin thered be an answer here :-)

I have had the same issue, though it happens less frequently for me-maybe every couple of weeks. When this happens I'm also unable to connect on voice calls. I get notified there is an incoming call, but when I hit answer a connection is never established. I'm also unable to make any outgoing calls. The system just sort of goes to the calling mode and does nothing for a minute then goes back to the home screen. Rebooting always fixes the issue, but sometimes just turning on airplane mode and then turning it off again works to reset the connection.

The data connection keeps working the whole time, so it related solely to the SMS/voice connection. Google voice is the only app that I have that has an impact on the voice/SMS connection so it could be that is the problem. Since the problem is very intermittent for me, it will be difficult to figure out the root cause of the problem.

I have the same problem (not receiving texts) and it happens about twice a week, usually on the same days around the same time. Rarely rebooting fixes it for me, usually I have to wait until morning and then all the nights messages come piling in.

I came here to figure out if I should factory reset, has anyone tried that and had it work? I would like to take my phone into Verizon and warranty it out (new/like new phones are nice) but I don't want to have to factory reset it and then redownload my apps and then take it.
