so hard to say goodbye bionic!

I am with the OP, even though there has been no solid release date, I am saying goodbye to the Bionic. With a Nexus device coming out with ICS supposedly in October, why would you not wait?

I have a D2 and without custom ROM's I am stuck on Froyo on a not even 1 year old device. Knowning Motorola/Verizon's inability to update software good luck getting anything but Gingerbread in the near future with a locked bootloader and who knows how long root would take (albeit probably not long).

The Thunderbolt was coming in early February
The Etna/Bionic was coming Q2
The Targa/Bionic is coming 8/4
The <pick your device> is rumored to be coming <pick your date>

These early speculations almost NEVER pan out. Just saying.

I hear you but they are not a Nexus device and on Verizon for that matter, different ball game in my opinion.

I agree there is always new technology right around the corner so you could be waiting forever!

Also, that was intended as a rhetorical question :)

I am sure the Nexus Prime could be a great device, but I need some more info on it if I want to dedicate my next upgrade to it.

I just bought a used TB off ebay for $200, that'll tide me over until 720p display phones are released this winter. Bionic took way too long to arrive, sorry moto.

"Could be?" The last two Nexus's were light years ahead of anything that was out at the time, why would Google change that track record now? And, for the record, no one knows any info at all about the so called Nexus Prime right now.

Officially? You're being sarcastic, right?

No, pretty much right there in black and white Google/HTC has spelt out exactly what the Nexus Prime is.

Conversely you will not find an official anything detailing exactly what the Targa/Bionic has. We're still debating display, CPU, RAM, Battery and so on.

Wow, you are being serious. Okay, I'll tey to break this to you gently, but that page isn't official. It's a page someone made up. With pictures of I'm Nexus devices, and phrases like "it's rumored." Their stated cpu specs are "1.2 or 1.5."

Let me ask you a question. If the official Nexus whatever page was up, wouldn't major tech sites be reporting it? For that matter, why would they unviel a site before officially unveiling the phone? Would that make any sense at all?

And btw, there's no Santa either

There is no need to be that way.. OK I did a little digging:

Code:
 ~ $ whois -h whois.godaddy.com googlenexus-4.com

Registrant:
   Custom Sigs inc
   595 division st
   east greenwich, Rhode Island 02818
   United States

Ok I'll grant you - I should have done a check on who owns that page. Just the same, Motorola would do well to release the official specs.

I'm sorry, I'm just a bit sarcastic. It is blatantly fakes though. There really is no legit info out there at all on the next Nexus. Everything goes back to that BGR article, which was complete speculation.

Other than what information Phil gave us in the Rumored Devices thread which had NOTHING to do with that BGR article.

Yeah anything about the Nexus Prime right now is speculation and rumors. I highly doubt we'll see it in October.

if we don't see it by then we should at least have better information on it. I know people aren't perfect but I really have a hard time disbuting Phil's info from his source. I know phil wouldn't toss it out there on a whim.

Yes I know that. But he didn't say a date either...

Yeah, but that's still a rumor. You have to remember, sources can be wrong. Typically sources talk to more than one person too, so when info comes from another outlet, I'll start believing it a but more

*sigh* I have an upgrade available right now. My OG Droid is lagging along like nobody's business, and I need a new phone. I, as everyone else, was going to buy the Bionic if it dropped August 4th, but that seems to be just a wish now.

Question is: Use the upgrade and get a D3 now, wait a month, use the upgrade and get the Bionic, or wait 3+ months and get that tasty Nexus Prime.

I'm not against buying a phone on list price. I just think my OG Droid is about to die.
