well fellow bionic hopefuls, since rumors of this new september launch, i believe i will pass on this moto bad boy. if they would of held to the 8-4 release schedule, i would of pulled the trigger on it but september is mighty close to a google nexus ics phone, whats one or two more months after bionic to get a pure top of line spec google experience phone huh? any of you getting cold feet?

I think at this point we are all feeling this way.
By the way, Aug 4 was NEVER a scheduled release date. It was pure speculation.
At this point, I'm looking at the Bionic, Gal IIs, and Prime. I will make the jump within the next 4 to 8 weeks.
At this point it might not look good for Moto from my point of view....
When your Nexus phones is close to being released, you'll probably be hearing rumors of quad-core phones. Why not just wait for those, too?
There's always going to be something better lol. Just buy what phone you want at the time, and then you can drool over the newer phones for 2 years XD.

Whats wrong with you mannnnnnnnnnn!!! The August 4th Date was Speculated as well as September 1st.. Motorola said Summer!!!! Summer goes to September!!! Why are so many people so inpatient!!!! I have been waiting since last November for this phone and I am using a Storm 1...

Next month I will reach the end of my 10 month cycle for switching phones, and my city will be getting LTE. I will make a jump within the next 4 to 8 weeks. I just want to make sure I get the best phone available.
I'm going back to my E815....forget these smartphones...

I am currently in the "I am po'd at Moto" boat. So as much as I dislike the build of HTC and Samsung, the GSII, HTC Vigor and Nexus Prime are probably now in my top 3 choice of phones. If the Bionic comes out and there is no news or decent rumors for one of the above mentioned phones release date being anytime soon, then I would consider buying the Bionic.
I am just at that point of September being too close to the release of some other amazing phones and Moto has strung me along to far, I might as well wait for some True ICS all screen 720p Love. Sorry Moto, you guys really screwed the pooch on this one. :'(

I really fail to see what's to be PO'ed at Moto or VZW about really.
OK, yeah, I personally would like to see a bit more engagement from either party but really they are under no obligation to tell anyone anything. Moto hasn't really promised anything nor has Verizon.
We'll just have to see, if Moto gets it out soon and it's solid and VZW hypes it a bit - they'll get some good sales. If not, Samsung is the most likely to get in and get the Dual Core LTE crown.

They should just release the bionic as 4g lte upgradeable :/

If that were the case they would've done this for the Droid 3 I'm guessing.
Doing this for a tablet is one thing.. there's a LOT more room to play (see teardowns of them). A smartphone is a lot more jammed packed.
They never made an 8-4 release schedule. WE the community made that date. We make all dates - Verizon never gives phone release dates unless it is within 2 weeks of release to announce pre order.

Announce a flagship phone at CES on January 6th. Tell the world IT WILL BE released in Q2. Then wait until the End of Q2 and say, Due to feedback from consumers at CES we have decided to enhance your experience by delaying the phone until the end of August and tell you nothing between now and then...No you are right, why anyone would be PO'd at moto is ridiculous... :-X

i agree - no need to jump ship just because it's not coming 8/4. when the Targa was first rumored last year, it was targeted for Q3 release, and there hasn't been anything official from VZW. now, holding out and waiting because of the rumors of the Prime - i totally get that!
Because they wont be a Nexus. The Nexus is in a class all itself.

Galaxy S II will be my next phone. If I don't see the Bionic released by the 4th there is no point in waiting for it longer than the Galaxy 2 will be better if not coming out sooner if Bionic is pushed back til September...

The specs of these 2 phones are virtually identical. If, however, you prefer the SGS2 over the Bionic that is a different story.
