so hard to say goodbye bionic!

Whats wrong with you mannnnnnnnnnn!!! The August 4th Date was Speculated as well as September 1st.. Motorola said Summer!!!! Summer goes to September!!! Why are so many people so inpatient!!!! I have been waiting since last November for this phone and I am using a Storm 1...

lol your still on that phone?!?! G's!

really??? Announce a flagship phone at CES on January 6th. Tell the world IT WILL BE released in Q2. Then wait until the End of Q2 and say, Due to feedback from consumers at CES we have decided to enhance your experience by delaying the phone until the end of August and tell you nothing between now and then...

No you are right, why anyone would be PO'd at moto is ridiculous... :-X

Some of the company spokespeople at the CES said Q2 which was widely reported but their press releases have been a bit more conservative as far as what they were going to release it:
Verizon Wireless and Motorola Mobility Announce DROID

And it doesn't state Q2 or any date for that matter.

It's not until the "oops, we screwed up and have to redesign it" that Moto put a release date in their press releases:
The New DROID BIONIC: Coming Soon - Fact Sheets - Motorola Mobility, Inc.

It was still a mea culpa for Motorola since it turned out the device as shown at the CES couldn't be released. When that first happened the big point of contention was whether we'd be happier seeing Moto releasing a substandard, crappy product or to delay it some and come out with something that was rock solid.

After the second "summer" press release was when we started going wild with July, August and so on releases and got ourselves in a lather over it. Then again before the redesign press release came out there was a flurry of speculated release dates there too.

Motorola definitely deserves some blame not being able to release the Bionic. So be it, they likely lost a ton of sales to the TBolt, Charge, Revoltion, et al. because they didn't have an LTE product out.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very eager to get my hands on it and have stated that the wait is rather tiresome. But in spite of that, my current phone still works, the sun still comes up, and despite some people's wishes, I still draw breath.

Move on as you see fit, it's your money and your choice. In one respect, for now, Motorola is safe: there are no dual core LTE phones on the market.

So is it just me, or is anyone else singing the song? It's a very fitting song for this situation to most of us.

"If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's all worth the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday"

Heh

When your Nexus phones is close to being released, you'll probably be hearing rumors of quad-core phones. Why not just wait for those, too?

Well he said nexus and since they will always get updates first they are worthy of an upgrade. It's not our fault moto cant get their product out working in a timely manner and like to lock everything down. Sorry somethings are just better to wait another few months for something that will get many updates(if needed) right away rather than waiting for carriers.

You failed to understand the moral of the story. Also, Nexus devices are equivalent to a device with an unlocked bootloader. Unless people actually use vanilla Android. :o No one does, though. If your phone is breaking down now, it would be ridiculous to not wait for the Bionic or the SGSII. If you're a "2 phones a year" person, then I can understand.

Well since the bionic is locked down you can throw that one out since you will have to wait for moto or a dev to get a leaked unlock code. Now the sgs2 i could see people getting if it has LTE. I know if your phone is breaking down now nobody said wait for the prime. Clearly get a new phone, but if it can last a few more months I think it would be smarter to get a nexus but thats just me I will seriously consider all 3 before making a decision.

I agree that people should not play the phone catch up game but when the Bionic is delayed, delayed and delayed it's now too close to other phones coming out with better technology to be a sure thing and if i had my way i would wait, but we have 20-30 people in the company waiting for this phone for months because we told them it is THE phone to go to. That is not the case anymore with so many phones being announced as coming out soon with 720p screens and 1.5 dual cores. The Bionic may be the very best when it comes out, but it's the best of old technology. There are always better phones coming out, true, but they are usually 4-5 months out, the phones that are better than the Bionic are a couple months out and some would argue are going to be out around the same time thanks to the delays.

If i had a choice i would get the Bionic if it were to release on august 4th, if it drops in September i would definitely wait for the Prime or something better to drop in October/November. But with no choice i'm getting the Bionic and will be happy with it. :p

People on these sites are ridiculous like that " I just gotta have it now" like dope fiends. Then when they come out the ***** that they should have developed it more before they released it.

????/ makes no sense. What are u trying to say???

my og droid wont make it much longer lol...always be something better but at least if i get google ics phone then at least i have a phone designed with the latest os, no capacitive keys, possibly hd screen (not pentile) so it should make the following 2 years a lil easier to swallow.

All he was saying is that people get so caught up in the "gotta have it, gotta have it, gotta have it" and then when it does come out they constantly complain that "it could have had X, Y or Z". Ergo sum: never satisfied.

I still remember all the constant complaints about the Etna Bionic vs the Atrix... it will be what it is. Take it, or leave it.

They never made an 8-4 release schedule. WE the community made that date. We make all dates - Verizon never gives phone release dates unless it is within 2 weeks of release to announce pre order.

true.. i would be happy with the bionic if it was coming early august, since its not, then im also happy waiting a couple more months for a phone that wont look outdated 2 months after it releases i.e., bionic having capacative keys and inferior display. im not talking about quad cores or cpu speeds... pure looks dept.

If the gs2 has LTE and comes out around the same time as the bionic then moto will really get some low sales since it will already be going against the iphone 5 and add the sgs2 on top of that and bye bye moto sadly.

Go read the stats again. Bionic only at the highest specs would equal to the SGS2.

How is that so? If you're talking about benchmarks, remember the GS2 has a lower resolution than the Bionic so it has less pixels to push, thus scoring higher.

wrong.....Smartbench accounts for resolution. Quit repeating misinformation :)
