So..How long before we can ROOT these puppys?

Just happily picked up my E4GT today and love this thing amazingly light and thin. This new TouchWiz is growing on me.

But really want to get root permission so i can restore my apps and other fun stuff.

I wonder how different rooting this would be from the EUR GS2?


Side Note: there is NO MHL adaptor (MicroUSB to HDMI) in the box....guess the bloggers got it for testing and thought it was included.

There was only one reviewer that had a MHL cable in the box. Unfortunately, it was the first unboxing that hit the web, so everyone jumped on the news. It became clear a bit later though that this phone was not shipping with them. It was a bit of a let down only because the expectation was set.

If I were to bet, I'd expect we'll see root by early next week

Since the kernel source was released today alongside the official release of this phone, I'd say it would be coming very soon! I can't imagine how fast a rooted E4GT would be!

I too am in the same boat. Backed up with Titanium Root not thinking that such a new phone wouldn't have root access yet. Guess I can live a few days before I need to restore the bulk of my apps. Can always restore the keys one I need.

On another note. Took a look at the Photon today and the screen was noticeable to me. Shame because I really liked the idea of a world phone. Still, this little puppy seems pretty sweet so far.
