so many complaints

Thanks Jet.
I probably will get the rezound though.
I have nothing against this device, just that the rezound feels a bit better to me personally in my hand.

Decisions!

BS. Maybe releasing crap software/products is acceptable to the masses where your from, but where I'm from we call that people being suckered in to being beta testers for the phone. Getting the short end of the stick, a raw deal, bent over and probed with no lube, etc etc etc...

I knew these threads were coming and I LOVE IT!

THERE COULDN'T BE ANYTHING WRONG, THIS IS THE GREATEST PHONE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ALL WERE PISSING YOUR PANTS TO GET IT!!!!!!!!

Maybe Android is simply an inferior product to apple after all?

Could be.
I was just waiting to compare it to the rezound.

The problem is that there are too many models of android devices that makes people that aren't so tech savy say give me a user friendly phone.

The brutal truth is my wife's iphone is extremely user friendly and my DINC had to be modified/ rooted to become that way for me.

I love mine. Only 2 minor complaints so far (which will probably be resolved soon)

1) volume VERY low (fixed with Volume + app)
2) battery seems to not be as good as my X2 yet. Probably because i'm playing so much with it. I can probably fix that but shutting off 4G and getting the extended battery.

Otherwise, best, smoothest, fastest android device I've ever seen by far.

So far mine seems to be perfect....with my only complaint being the low volume. I have the extended battery in mine and got 9 1/2 hours with about 5 hours of heavy use (Downloading, 1 hour of streaming netflix, browsing, streaming music etc etc).....so my first impressions of the battery are that it is ok,,,,,it is snappy, call quality seems good to me. My dad thought I was noticeably clearer on a call with the GNEX compared to my original droid.....I think the screen is beautiful...........so far so good. If they can make it better with updates and get the volume up I would be estatic. Of course I could be singing a new tune next week.

In my opinion this is the best phone available. The iPhone is very user friendly, but I'm not. For some reason I get too much enjoyment from Modding Android. It satisfies my tinkering nature and I don't get that from locked devices.

Some may think I need a life, but I'm happy so no.

Maybe I'm easily satisfied, but I'm quite happy with mine. The sounds seem loud enough overall, and I'm someone who likes a loud ringtone.

My phone seems remarkably bug-free so far. The only thing I'm not 100% on is the standard Google browser. I'll probably experiment with some others.

I will say that the battery drains quickly, but I'm waiting to see how it performs after a few charges before I go running to get the bigger battery. Given the specs of this phone, I wasn't expecting extremely long times between charges.

Oh, and I'm coming directly from an iPhone, and I think ICS is 100% as easy to use. In fact, the seamless integration between apps in Android makes doing many tasks (especially social media on multiple platforms) a zillion times easier than having to shuttle between apps in iOS.

This happens every time. The board goes from "I can't wait to get my hands on this thing!!" to "Man this phone sucks!"

Edit: I LOVE this phone by the way and have not had any issues that I can't live with.

People just need to relax. I have a GS2 on Sprint, and I purchased my Galaxy Nexus yesterday. It's a new phone with a new OS. There will be quirks. I don't see why people get so worked up. Another update or two and things will be just peachy.

As for right now, I have absolutely no complaints about the Nexus. It does everything I expected it to do without feeling the need to root or modify any of the stock system.

Most of the satisfied people are too busy playing with their phones to be posting up about how great they are, so naturally the board looks flooded with negatives.

As for me personally, I've been far too busy with work to do much tinkering, and I'm also an Android noob. I have downloaded zero apps thus far, but have been using the phone as a phone and it is working perfectly. Call quality is great, volume is fine for me, HD videos on youtube (for showing off) look and sound great. I have access to WiFi here at work and at home, so I've yet to do anything on 4G. So I'll join the group of people who are satisfied thus far with the phone.

People love to complain. If I screw up at work I have several people telling me I screwed up. If I do something good then I might have one person telling me I did a good job.

I'm very happy with the phone so far. Most of the issues mentioned so far I didn;t notice until someone pointed them out. People like to complain.

Im an apple fan boy when it comes to computers, OSX has been taking a crap on windows for years(like games eh? Buy an xbox). When it comes to phones ill stick to android.

Same thing here. Im a designer, photographer, graphics guy and I everything seems just simpler in OSX, but as far as phones, I love android and its customizability. I would never go to an iPhone. With that being said...I love my Nexus. One of the best phones I have. Ditched my bionic for it (couldn't be happier). Yes, it has a few hiccups, but nothing a software update can't fix.

I've always been a huge Android guy. Custom ROM's, customization, functionality - awesome.
But I have had 50 problems with each of the 6 various Android phones I have owned, probably with 5-10 of them being of the critical variety.

I had to switch to iPhone 4S for work and in 2 months I have had maybe 1 minor issue. The thing just always, always, always works great.

Bummed to hear about the issues with the Nexus...

Apparently exploding batteries are acceptable. /shrug

OG Droid launch was the same as this launch. I might have even had more launch bugs with the Moto...

Hahaha.....remember the jpg floating around with Yoda using Da Force! to suspend his iPhone so not to kill the antenna. Most recently the battery drain issue. My iTouch refuses to keep a charge with the new OS releases. Yup....pure perfection! :D

You kinda are a beta tester with a nexus. Think about it, updates come and bugs are found. Deal with it.

I second this. The nexus phones have always been around for developers to have a device to test new apps on the latest and greatest android OS. There will be bugs. Devs will report these bugs and google will get them hammered out prior to releasing ics to the masses. Nexus is through and through a dev phone that just so happened to get mainstream consumer appeal.
