I'd have to say, yes, go get it! Coming from a BB, even a fail such as the storm, this is the BB and iPhone on 'roids! As smooth and slick as the iPhone with the function plus some of a BB. A few bugs here and there, but no deal killers. If the droid producers keep this up, iPhail is a sitting duck...nice jobssssssss

There is a reason why Android blew iPhone away in 1st Quarter Market Share and that was without the INC. The Android OS is simply unmatched and the HTC Sense on the INC improves something that was very hard to better. Sure something may come out in the next month or three that is as good as the INC but nothing will be better for most users.

I too love this phone and highly recommend it.

However, the only thing I'd consider is reception issues. There are a lot of folks out there complaining about reception. I personally have not had bad experiences with the reception.. while I sometimes notice "fewer bars" than I'm used to seeing in other phones, that has not translated into dropped calls or poor call quality. Then again, I live in Manhattan where there's probably a cell antenna every block.

You might also peruse the HTC Forums, where people seem to be going to voice their complaints more than their praises:
Why I'm returning my Incredible - DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC (Verizon) - Android Forums - HTC Community

Keep in mind though that some complaints are simply people's lack of understanding on how to use the device.

I would say get it. Only complaints is the battery life (I just carry the charger with me now, it's not like i'm not by an outlet usually) and the small notification LED. However, the phone is usually in my pocket so I guess the LED notification isn't as big of an issue. I just miss how I always knew when I had a missed notification on my BB. The LED on BBs are a beast.

I have enjoyed my phone. I would recommend it to my friends. The only problem I've come across is the main screen weather widget not updating the location properly. I did a hard reset and so far it fixed the problem.

Should ask this same question in NON incredible forums to get a better data sample. of-course people who own the phone will sing its praises!

the phantom home screen changes, and unexplained selections are happening because you are inadvertently swiping the optical joy stick. These are its functions (among other things). IT IS NOT A BUG OR DEFECT.

I highly recommend this phone! My first smartphone was the Storm and although I liked the blackberry platform, the phone stunk!! After several exchanges I gave up on Blackberry and switched to the Eris. I immediately loved the phone but after a while got annoyed with the slight lag. And then the Incredible arrived and I am 100% pleased.
Its like the Eris but 200 x better! I will be getting the extended battery bc I use this phone so much it barely makes it through the day.... And for the record I barely use to use my Storm and Eris for ANYTHING except when I really needed to bc I am extremely inpatient.... I am on my phone all day... it just does as its suppose to without hesitation.

This is definitely the best phone I have ever had. I am completely happy with it. The few bugs I have encountered have been trivial and related to Swype. Usually, exiting the messages app and opening it again but I've had that maybe twice since I have owned it. The phone is very fast and way better than the Storm I was coming from. My wife is the next BB to Android convert but she may go with the Droid because she likes a physical keyboard as well. I would recommend this phone to anyone that isn't happy with their current phone/manufacturer. If you are happy with what you have now, chances are you will find the Incredible lacking in a few areas. Not because of a flaw with the Incredible or with Android but more likely because you enjoy the way your current phone does certain tasks.

I've been following a lot of threads on the Incredible. I've tried to duplicate the big issue that out out there, and I really am not seeing it.

I extensively checked out the reception (or signal strength) issue. I did real world experiments with my Incredible in one hand, and my wife's Droid in the other. I see a slight difference in signal bars, but if one observes the signal strength in db, the numbers are close to the same & sometimes slightly higher (less negative - more strength) on the Incredible. I did these observations at strong, medium, and very week signal areas. dropped or broken-up calls: the same with both phones in near-dead areas. At least with my Incredible THERE IS NO RECEPTION ISSUE. There may be some defective Incredibles out there, or maybe just some nervous new owners.

BATTERY LIFE is slightly better on the Droid vs. the Incredible, but not so that it is a hindrance to everyday use. I came from Bold 9000, to iPhone, to Droid, to Droid Incredible. They rank in this order - best to worse: Bold, Droid, Incredible, iPhone. With the 1750mah Seidio extended battery the Incredible is better than the Droid.

These are my experiences, yours may vary.

No, sir. I, and others in various other threads, can confirm that we're not even close to the phone when the screens flip or selections change on their own. The phone is often several feet away from me when I'm watching it happen.

It has to do with either light or other energy from nearby systems (PCs, TVs in my case).

Thanks for assuming so much, though.

Let's be honest, life is about trade-offs. There is not a perfect phone...there probably will never be one, as the standards keep changing. Every phone will have some issues, minor or major. I prefer to have a phone that works for most of my needs, even though it may have a few minor issues to deal with. My Incredible battery lasts a LOT longer than my Pre Plus battery did. IMO shorter battery life is less irritating than my BB Storm freezing and rebooting all the time. Usually at the worst possible time, like when I receive a call. Don't even get me started on pulling the battery 3 times a day! So far my Incredible has been an outstanding phone. Not perfect, but pretty darn good. I would have no problem recommending this phone to anyone, as long as they know what they are getting and have reasonable expectations.

Is BlueTooth dialing a must-have-cannot-live without? Then skip the Incredible, stay with your BB.
Do you absolutely-positively need to impress teenage girls and liberal arts majors? Then go get the iPhony.

Otherwise, BUY THIS PHONE NOW! DON'T WASTE ANOTHER SECOND. It is truly incredible.

The only (and I do mean only) complaint I have is the 1300 mA battery. Planning to upgrade it.

My Incredible

I've had my Incredible since it was available in the Verizon store. I absolutely love it. It's fast, bright and beautiful. My daugters have the Eris and when they saw my Incredible they were sooooo jealous. I've already suggested it to people I don't know let alone friends and family.

I've been extremely happy with my Incredible so far. Other than the battery issue (which you already have covered), I haven't really found anything lacking with this device. I wouldn't mind seeing it run stock Android OS; although HTC is pretty cool too.

Re: So The Droid Incredible has been out about 10 days...

It's a fantastic phone.

I've had everything from various blackberries like the 8700, 8830, Storm 1, and Tour 9930, to many windows mobile phones like the Samsung i760, Samsung Saga, XV6800, Omnia, Touch Pro, Touch Pro 2, Android phones like the Droid Eris (which my wife has now) and I just came out of the Motorola Droid.

The Droid Incredible is the best phone I have ever owned.

.

Speaking of the bluetooth issue (a major hangup for me), what's the chances that can be fixed either from Google, HTC, or just a third party app and would the phone have to be rooted?
