No significant bugs or issues, here. Best phone I've ever owned and I HAVE been around the block once or twice.

Sorry about the assumption, but it does seem joy stick related. If you can reliably duplicate the symptom, try then putting a piece if tape over the joy stick. If that fixes things, then at least you know something for sure. What you do with such knowledge is not apparent.

Well, Well. I just set my Incredible down on the table, and "swiped" the optical joy stick with a beam of light from my pocket flashlight. What do you know, the home screen changed. It will even change to the appropriate screens depending on if I move the light from left to right, or right to left.

So now what? Is it a defect? Can it be fixed with software? Probably. HTC needs to know about this.

No way! It is a freaking remote!:D

Some quirks... Anyone else?

Home screen switches to side screens without reason
Some field will be selected (not clicked on) on a screen without reason
Silent mode is toggled the opposite of what it should be
Couldn't set up a POP3 account - something to do with authentication

Small things, I know. I actually love the phone!

Awesome, Rick!

Do you have a video camera? You could make a YouTube video, and then we could post a link to it on the HTC forums. HTC either needs to fix it or finish developing it (ref.: those jokes about it being part of a remote control feature. lol.)

I only have a basic flashlight & could only make the screen change once. It sounds like you're able to make the screens change at will. You would make the best video to demonstrate the issue.

Thanks for testing it out.

So, those of you that bought extended batteries, what kind did you buy and where did you get it? I've see everything from a 1500mAh battery to a 1750mAh on the Android Central Store to a 2250mAh on a site called htcpedia. I want to get the best life i can from my phone, but the 2250 requires a different "back" to the phone and i don't know if i should trust the third party. I tried verizon this afternoon, but the didn't have any for the incredible. Should i just go to BB and get an Eris battery?

Personally, I think the longer battery life is worth the extra 3-4 mm added to the back of the device. The Inc is already a very slim phone; 3-4 mm isn't adding much. HOWEVER, since I'm already going to add to the dimensions of the phone, I'm just going to wait for the bigger 3500 by Seidio.

The Inc sucks up juice like crazy. Might as well give it the biggest supply I can. My 2 cents.

You should make a video. This would be interesting to see.

A very close friend of mine is about to get her 3rd Incredible. First had a green tint at the bottom of the screen. 2nd has battery life issues--as in some days its fine, then its awful the next--and she's done her homework on battery saving tips. Her call quality was poor, she took it to Verizon who did some kind of software update (i have no idea what they actually updated...may have been a placebo? reactivated? updated prl?) which supposedly made call quality better, and supposedly the quality got slightly better, but is still poor. Her dBm's are, on average, lower than my Droid. She's hoping the 3rd will somehow improve on the previous two before using the 30 day trial opportunity to upgrade to a Droid.

SUBJECTIVE* as this all may be, my rooted Droid is a superior phone than the Incredible (for the record, I greatly dislike, SenseUI - which has a lot to do with my opinion). Granted, rooting and modding a phone isn't for everyone, but low voltage kernels did wonders to my battery life and operating temperature. The phone flies at 1Ghz. My screen looks sharper and overall better. I dont like the Incredible/Nexus One screen: its too "cool". The warmer colors of the Droid are more pleasing to me. All of this, imho, propels the Droid past the stock Incredible. A rooted Incredible w/o Sense might take the cake, though that screen still bothers me. Priorities...

*Flame resistance.

You are silly if you don't buy it!
My wife was waiting for VZW to get the iPhone and she's had an old Samsung flip phone forever. We both are MAC users. I got my Eris when they first came out and I was impressed (even more impressed now that 2.1 upgrade is coming). She wasn't till she went into Verizon and played with their Incredible demo.
She fell in love! For her to be impressed with a device is unreal. I played with it and "it ROCKS!" It's the iPhone smasher!!! WOW, is it fast!
She ended up paying $99 after the $100 mail in rebate.
YOU CAN NOT BEAT IT!

Seeing things, maybe bugs

Seeing the following..

1.) Both my phone and my wifes will sometimes drain a full battery in short amount of time. Mine this AM was losing about 2% every 5 minutes with no usage other than checking battery % every 20 minutes then turning off display after 5 seconds to check. Only thing that seemed to stop was shutdown and restart.

2.) Videos will be there one moment and gone the next. And no recovery programs can find there. Happens on both phone storage and card storage.

Anybody else seeing issues like these?

Charging issues

The first time I left my Incredible charging overnight (phone on), it stalled in the am, but eventually went to the home screen. So I figured - don't charge overnight with the phone on. A couple of days ago I charged overnight (phone off) and in the am I got a white screen with two green "androids" at the bottom and some information (small print) about a slow or quick reset. I tapped the slow reset and the phone fired up with all my apps, etc. Is anyone else having a problem with charging overnight? It's a hassle!
