Soak test for Droid Maxx

Weird. I've tested it multiple times. Sometimes it does the double-home-tap and sometimes it doesn't. the first couple times i tried it it didn't.

I wonder if we will get the full 4.4.2 now that the maxx HD has it. Kind of bummed that we didn't get it right off the bat but there's nothing we can do to change that fact lol.

O sweet! I kind of figured that's what was gonna happen. Wonder what the changes where that pushed this update back. Seems like they were pretty severe in the grand scheme of things.

There is still an update to come. This is mostly just a network patch.

Good info, but I'm still waiting for this May 2014 update. I clicked on the link you provided and it told me what to do, but I keep getting told I'm already up to date, so I'm still on the 19.5.3.obake_verizon.Verizon.en.US version and not the 19.6.3.obake_verizon.Verizon.en.US version.

As for those instructions on that link, this is what I did, to no avail. There is no "Yes, I'm in," option; only an option to check for updates and nothing comes of it because I'm "up to date."

If you have not received a notification message for this update, follow the steps below to manually update your phone:

Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
Select "About phone".
Select "System updates".
Select "Yes, I’m in". After the software is downloaded, select "Install Now".
After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
Your phone is now updated to SU2-3.3

So how do I update to the new version?

So how do I update to the new version?

It's rolling out. It still hasn't hit my phone, either. They usually roll out over 3-5 days, sometimes it's longer. Just be patient and you'll get the notification that an update is available.

That happened already. I can't remember if it was the KitKat update or last November's OTA, but the phone's baseband was updated to support AWS.

BUT I DON'T WANNA WAIT! lol

Thanks for the info, as always. You seem to always reply to my post with what I need. :)

If you really want to, you can download the update file and install it manually. It's a little complicated, but you download the update to your download folder and start the phone in recovery and it will go through the install. It's probably safer just to wait for the update, though. That's what I'm doing.

It's actually very easy and is the exact process that the ota does automatically. Takes like 5 minutes.

Hey, I finally found it on XDA. Very first post of this thread.

[OTA][PATCH] Kit Kat 19.6.3 OTA File May 2014 - xda-developers

And Post #110 gives good instructions.

I just put the Update.zip in the Download folder and navigated to it, updated, when the yellow text said it was done, I rebooted. Then I got the "Android is upgrading..." and "Optimizing app XXX of 234" while the circle to the left kept doing its animated circle thing. It finished the boot, my icons were white, and I got the same screen infp that Westiemom screenshotted in post 65 of this thread.

EDIT: Not a fan of the white text; I liked the blue especially because the WiFi would be blue and the mobile data would be grey so you knew you were on WiFi for sure, but I am updated, and I'll get used to the white text. The home button "double tap" bug I have complained about earlier has not been fixed based on my update.

Yea. I couldnt wait either. Verizon is too slow... lol

You mean the faster version of 4g. As in speeds 50 to 100mbps. Right.

But isn't this new lte called xlte? Are you certain that's supported by the newest droids?

This isn't volte right?

I'm confused. I read that volte was being released this year but our phones wouldn't support it.

So our phones will support xlte?
