Software Experience vs. G6

I know the LG software is relatively the same throughout all of LG's phones. For those that had the GG or V20 (2016/17 LG flagships), are there any software improvements or differences two years later or is everything exactly the same?

How many Google apps have replaced LG stock apps? (On the G6 we have a stock messenger app, is Android Messages now the default messenger?)

Have G6 and V20 and V30. It's all really the same but with added AI and Oreo stuff.

I just wish they would add the option to scroll up and down in the menu. I end up back on Action launcher every time because I hate scrolling side to side.

Well...the one change I don't like is the moving of the "close all" button from the top of the screen to the bottom. If I don't hit it just right, I end up opening the window on the bottom instead of closing all apps.

Nova is the first thing I put on every new phone

Yeah I'm exactly the same. I don't think of the stock launcher as software because i do that, but I guess it is.

I prefer Nova to my wife's Pixel 3 stock launcher.

Will the "knock on" feature still work with Nova Prime? I'm using the Rootless Pixel Launcher and I like it, having a dark themed Google is cool...

I'm looking into Nova again as I haven't used it since I had it installed on my Nexus 6. I'm wondering is it playing nice with the V40?

It should work. It does with Action Launcher. The only issue with third party launchers is that you have to knock on the very top status bar to knock off.

Ok cool, I'll play around with a few launchers and see which one works for me. Thanks!

You shouldn't be closing your apps anyway.
