[SOLVED]Fire rooted, but apps cannot get root access.

Help! I'm stuck at same spot. I think I un-rooted the not really rooted Kindle Fire 1st gen by resetting to factory defaults - the Team whatever and GO Launcher are gone. Yet I still cannot update the device in settings - it is System Version 6.3.2_user_xyzblahblah and the [Update your Kindle] button is disabled. I was using http://random.kennocha.com/kindle/utility/Kindle_Fire_Utility_v0.9.6.zip
