soo how "3D" is it?

I cant do 3d well because i have astigmatism in my right eye but not my left. Kind of hurts to watch anything 3d

Sent from my Inspiration

I have the same issue due to partial blindness in my left eye. 3D tends to cause headaches that transition to migraines with enough exposure. I can see myself taking pictures in 3D at other's request, but as it stands, everything else about this phone is drawing me to it.

I am glad the 3D can be effectively 'turned off' for lack of a better term, but it does strike me as a pretty cool feature.

only on the camera, the screen is 3D all the time from what i understand.

Lets put it this way, in the ui the phone is always in 2d mode, it only goes into 3d mode when filming or taking picture in 3d and when watching videos and looking at pictures taken in 3d. Other apps that use 3d are the blockbuster and YouTube 3d app and whatever games will be made for 3d. That's it.

Just for my own personal clarification here, this effectively means that while the screen is capable of 3D at any time, I have to actively be using a program/picture/video utilizing that feature to make it appear in 3D, correct?

If so, I can live with that. I can, through my own choices, use it only in 2D :)

Affirmative.

Do a search on YouTube for Evo 3d and watch every video you can find, and you shall see that we speak the truth! ;)

Of that I have no doubt :) I have watched pretty much everything I could find amongst the android sites and YouTube. All of them reflect what has been stated on this forum. I just have trouble visually seeing any 3D effect myself, so I wanted to make sure. Again, thanks to all here on the forum.

Yeah the 3d effect doesn't come across in the videos. If you want to see what the 3d effect will look like, do as described earlier in the thread and go to a Best Buy or other electronics store that has the Nintendo 3DS on display and play with that, same idea.

i was under the impression everything on the phone is 3d, including all the sense homescreens, launcher, etc etc.. i'm surprised this wasn't clarified a lonnnng time ago.

Interesting..
