I noticed some battery issues after the update myself. Here are some things I have noticed:
1. Some of my settings were reset to default settings - especially my sync settings. I went back and set them to either sync manually or at least increased the time between syncs - the vcast media manager in particular appeared to be draining my battery - this stopped when I turned off auto syncing for this particular service. I recommend going to Settings > Accounts and Sync and checking your settings for all of these services. The only one I personally care about is the google services sync.
2. I had downloaded some wallpapers from this website recently. There was another forum post somewhere where someone mentioned that corrupted files on the SD storage card could cause the media manager to work overtime, so I deleted the new files. Not sure if this was what was going on with my phone, but my battery was heating up before, and now it's back to normal.
3. I found a small app to easily toggle 4g on and off. It's helped a lot to only turn it on when I want to surf the net or download something. I similarly turn off bluetooth, gps, wifi, etc., when I'm not using them.
Not sure if any of the above is helpful. I'm still experimenting with my phone to try and get better battery life. Called a verizon tech who was very courteous but appeared to have no clue about any of these issues or how to help other than do a factory reset. Anyway, good luck.
