Hi all,

So since updating to Android one UI Pie on the note 9 the sound for emails texts and sms messages goes silent. My volume is turned all the way up in every category but cannot seem to figure out why is sporadically stops working. My ringtones work when I get calls. Touch sounds work etc. Cannot figure out why. I've already wiped cache partition and restarted my phone several times. My sounds are downloaded from Zedge mainly. Has anyone else faced this problem ?? I'm not going to hard reset because I think this is something that can be fixed without going this route. Any assistance is appreciated.

Of course. That's separate from the sounds u actually set per app. I specifically stated texts FB messages and emails. The notification sound is for system wide notifications in case you didn't know. Next.Screenshot_20190204-194340_Settings.jpeg

That notifications you set beeps once that's for all notifications coming in , you stated email,Facebook,SMS messages. Does it beep once when any of those come in ?

Ok I'll say it again. The notification sound beep once for all other miscellaneous stuff. Get what I mean ?? I set a specific text tone for regular sms messages and fb messages. Did you not know you can do that? As well as email include Gmail, outlook, Yahoo aol etc. Those are all set individually which are ringtones I picked out of my storage. For some odd reason phone is on loud but all of those mentioned are silent. It's weird.

I understand you can set individual apps sound , I hope you find the issue goodluck.

Thank you for trying to help. You a better person than me lmao.

Sometimes people dont understand your helping them through a app and dont have the phone in your hand to know exactly what's going on .

Lol Yelp. No explanation needed buddy. Most people know you trying to help and don't go that way about it. Don't worry about it.

You're right you don't have the phone in front of you but I specifically mentioned what the issue was initially. You're asking questions that I described originally. The notification sound section is for miscellaneous notifications like voicemail etc. If you knew that then why ask? Specific app notifications don't have much relevance to what I mentioned specifically.

Well I was trying to go over basic stuff see if anything was missed , and that beeps once tone you choose for all default notifications unless you go into a app and change the notification sound but it's ok its seems I can't help you so I hope someone else can help , take care and goodluck.

Lol. Don't get all bent out of shape, dude.

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I have individual notifications and sounds for every single phone operation and every single individual contact. Everything works flawlessly.

Now, saying all that,
I'm on a locked-to-AT&T 512 gig Note 9 that I purchased in Savannah GA in December 2018. I just received the update three days ago for Android 9.0 and DEFINITELY REFORMATTED TO FACTORY Settings.

100% perfect. Zero issues outside of GoodLock.

I'm good man lol. Factory reset takes too much time and can't stand doing it every time an issues arises. It's a time waster IMO. Plus if I go through all that trouble and run into the same problem it's a waste. ATT 128gb model for me.

Ok.. Well.. Maybe just clear the cache thru the bixby volume up power bottom combo thingy... Other than that... You know what you have to do. ;)

Now I remember who you are , I helped you through your battery issue.
