Speaker on Motorola G6 play not working after update

[Android Central Question]

My speakers have gone dead. connecting to the phone via bluetooth speakers still works. I've tried the solution suggested: I went to SETTINGS>ACCESSIBILITY>AUDIO & ON-SCREEN TEXT>MONO AUDIO ... TURNED ON Combine channels when playing audio.
but this didn't help. I've restarted it a million times, also in recovery and factory mode.
