Spotify is now available for Gear S3/S2

Awesome! So far though I have only been able to get it to work as a remote.

I can not get it to play on the watch over WiFi or LTE, I just get a connection error.

Try to login to your Spotify account on your watch.

Same here, can't get it work
I got it to work once I signed in to my spotify account. I was switching between Wifi and LTE and a sign-in screen popped up. After I signed in I connected over LTE. I even turned off my phone just to make sure I wasn't getting data from it.

Now I can't get it to work over LTE again...Maybe there will be an update soon.

Seems if you want to stream over LTE (and still have your watch connected to your phone) go into the watch's setting --- connections --- mobile networks --- always on.

Looks like you have to be a premium member you get the standalone feature to work. Maybe this was anyway known but was news to me. Tried logging in and said you must be a premium member to use this feature.

Edit. Read in the app description that premium is a requirement. Dang. Now I need to see if premium is worth it.

I finally got it to work. I am not sure what I did differently, but I turned my phone off (same thing I tried last night) and was able to get to the Spotify login screen today.

After getting Spotify to stream directly to the watch, I stopped the playback, closed all apps on my watch and powered the phone back up.

A few minutes later when I got a text, the watch played the normal notification tone and then started the playback on Spotify again. I paused the music, checked to see if the app had opened itself (it did not) and then sent myself an email. When the email came in, the same thing happened.

The Spotify app on the watch was in LTE mode still when this was all happening. I put it back in remote mode and it no longer starts playback when I get a notification on the watch.
