Sprint Airave

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.. Since updating to the Edge, I am only able to get one bar on my voice signal, until a call is placed, and it jumps to full bars.. But I have missed several calls while at home, and while talking with a Sprint Agent they suggested I try the Airave.. Does this thing actually work?
