Re the lock screen widgets:

It took me a minute to figure this out. Swipe right to left from the lock screen and after unlocking the phone, press and hold the screen to edit the widget or swipe right to add a new one.

Why is the choice of lock screen widgets SO limited? Why isn't there the choice of all the widgets? It's useless without them.

I have been having issues with Hangouts notifications not showing up. The only way a message comes through is if I am in hangouts. Anyone else noticing this?

I had been using the blinkfeed-like gallery live lockscreen. That's gone now.

The nearest replacement I see is a live wallpaper gallery that looks really really nice. I'll miss my personal blinkfeed, but love the living replacement

Like google now feature of not touching phone and just saying ok google and asking question.

google now always supported the "okay google" hotword detection for me as long as the phone was on and i was looking at google now.
has there been another change where this can be made to work when not currently in google now, or if the screen is off?

So after this kitkat update is it true that Google now listens for the "ok,Google" command. Because according to the battery usage screen, Android os is really high. I installed 4.4 on Saturday night. Screenshot

I thought that the dual capture feature (video recording) was a part of Sense 5.5? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the camera app.

I've been less than overwhelmed so far. My battery life is worse, not better, and I'm not anxious to do a reset. Don't like the swipe up lockscreen, which apparently can't be disabled, and has anyone noticed changes to Google Now? Before the update, when I went into GN's settings, there was a whole long list of apps and services that I could select GN to have access to. After the update, there are exactly six options: Apps, Chrome, Contacts, Play Books, Play Music & TV and Play Music. Notice that GMail or e-mail and calendar are not options to select. Does this mean GN will now no longer track shipments through GMail? I never got that function to work anyway, but I know it did for some folks. Seems GNow will be much more limited if it can't read my mail or my calendar.

Give it a few days and allow your new update to settle in if your not willing to do a factory reset.

Battery life may get better, maybe not.

Any one notice emoji's in hangouts look different and some are different colors on phone compared to web and other model phones? for instance my Nexus 5 and computer show arrows blue like always but on HTC One after update they are black

Emojis are defaulted to stock now especially with Google Hangouts. HTC did a little change there, notice many of the emojis in Hangouts when pressed default to stock instead of what you select.

I really enjoy the editing of the quick settings found in the drop down menu. I'm not sure if this was an option before, but I never found it previous to getting KitKat.
