Thanks Glenn. I did check it and found that the phone *is* going to sleep properly. I keep Wifi/4G/Bluetooth off, while GPS is on.
If you have Wifi at your home, turn it
on. You can keep 3G (mobile data) on, as well. The Evo drains more battery when not on Wifi.
Now, back on topic...
Is there any way to set your home using current coordinates? I didn't mention this in my previous posts because I don't recall the "home" feature being there prior to the update, and it's not that big a deal going into favorites for directions home.
The reason I ask is because the place where I live is a somewhat new developed community, so the address cannot be found on the Telenav map (although it's been around for more than five years, and can be found on Google Maps and from last year's Garmin map update), and as far as I can tell, you have to enter an address or cross-street to "setup home."
And back to the issue with the app being pre-set to avoid traffic delays... It looks like unless I deviate from the "chosen" route, it will not actually try to reroute based on traffic. If I don't deviate from the route, then I have to tap on the traffic icon, and choose "minimize delays," and then "accept" the new route if a faster route is found.
This rather defeats the purpose of telling the app to avoid traffic delays to begin with.
To me, the ability for the GPS to automatically reroute based on traffic is one of the most important features it can have, and is the only reason I use Telenav instead of Google Navigation--I don't want to have to reach over to my phone/GPS to tell it to avoid traffic delays and look for a faster route, which diverts attention from the road.
So, if there can be an option for it to do so without prompting me, or at least have the three route options to actually check traffic conditions first (it doesn't seem to be doing that when first getting directions), that would be great.
