Sprint Pre-order Delivery?

When I ordered my Galaxy Nexus, they shipped it Thursday...overnight shipping...and I had it that Friday...which was two days early.

People wasn't able to hit the stores for one till that Sunday.

So I'm sure, sprint will ship them out early...maybe Tuesday...or even Monday.

But I'm sure it'll be early.

My order status has changed from the standard blurb that they hope to get preorders on or before the release date of 21 JUN to:

Status: The order or a portion of the order is in backorder status. If the customer would like to select an alternate product or cancel the backordered item, transfer to Order Support.


I ordered the white 32G S3 on the 5 Jun (first day of preorders). Makes me wonder if they are going to slide the release date. Anybody actually get a tracking number yet?

no we dont have to wait i call sprint also cuz my order said the same thing in they told me they are starting to update there system in we will get are tracking number tommrr that's when they will start shipping
 
That happened to the EVO 4G LTE right before it shipped (after the whole border fiasco). I think we'll be fine. ;)
 
I can confirm the 32gb Blue also has the same message.

Strange as it sounds I have heard this means they are ready to ship and likely will go out tomorrow.

I just got my upgrade eligibility reset yesterday after returning my EvoLTE. Do you guys think that if I preordered the S3 today that I would still get it before Thursday?

At this point I'm kinda leaning towards just showing up at Sprint Thursday morning.
 
i think you will still get it before 21st or on that day because sprint still has not sold out on the 16 gb s3

I would think that you'd get it before Thursday, since the preorder is still up on the Sprint site.

The Sprint store by me are a bunch of clowns (rude, and clueless. I walked in to see if they had any accessories for the EVO 4G LTE, and they told me that it hasn't been released yet, but preorders will start soon! This was after it had been out for at least a week.). Granted, that is probably not a common experience, but it pretty much turned me off of brick and mortar Sprint stores.

It would also depend on how many a given store has.

maybe you should read all the posts; something about sprint hasnt received the inventory yet

I returned my Evo LTE also, and knew I wouldn't get in on the S3 pre-order if I waited for Sprint to process the return. After some digging around, I was connected to Account Services, which reset my upgrade within an hour of confirming they had received my phone. I know it's too late to help you now, but for future reference....
 
My order shows this status today as well:

Status: The equipment has shipped and/or the activation is complete

But the tracking number space is empty.

I chatted with Customer Service and asked for a tracking number and was told their system is down and they can't view the order. Because of the "system issue", the status displayed may not be the correct status

The customer support rep said they didn't have access to their computers, the system was updating: "call back in an hour."

Also got the Order Status message: 'The equipment has shipped and/or the activation is complete.' No tracking #.

So, the drama building up nicely here for a Thursday release --I hope the 'equipment has shipped' is the factually correct part of the status message! ;)

*BTW, using the pre-order confirmation # I also got the status: "the order or a portion of the order is in backorder status...you may want to cancel your order, etc," so it is advised to get an actual order # from customer support once the system is back up, then you can get a different status update on the /myorder site ;)
