I did a manual Odin no data loss upgrade and I would say from the little time I have had EC05, my battery should be almost double of what I had in EB13.

EB13 at idle would lose 2.2'ish% per hour

EC05 at idle loses about 1% per hour

I feel I get VERY Good battery life on EB13, and now it is even better! :D

ok the battery is ok when i dont touch the phone but once i start texting its like major down hill. Like i barely touched it at work. i twent from 98% to 75% in the 7 hours i was at work then i came home and texted alot and it was at 49% when i plugged it in. thats alot less than what it lasted before. whats the problem. what should i do?

so i got my ota this morning, when i tried installing it..it gave me an error and i restarted my phone. Now I cant get the update again. Is there anyway to update i tried the manual update firmware in settings but that didnt work

The PRL error was happening to my GF's epic last night PRIOR to the update, and could still be (I've not checked it yet) but it could be unrelated. Every single time I checked it it turned off the 3g icon (I assume also turning off 3g) and gave me an error.

update prl always turns off 3g. It's supposed to. It is completely unrelated to the ota push. You should receive the ota whether your prl updates or errors out.

Try pulling the battery and choosing update android instead of update firmware.

Just got done doing this and the 4g seems a lot faster, I just got 5.5 megs a second inside my house and I live outside the city.

EC05 is not for me. After clearing the RAM and the text messages being stuck at "sending" I decided it was time to go back to 2.1. I flashed it back to 2.1, however I kept being asked about the stupid EC05 update, so what did I do? Root my phone and remove systemupdater.apk hahaha! :D Problem solved. Sprint/Samsung get it right before moving me to a buggy update.

No... That's a custom rom.

Technically its not a custom ROM, DK28 was an "leaked" build of Froyo back in the beginning of December that never materialized into a official release. I actually miss DK28, it was a decent version on my opinion.

The update hosed my ringers/alrets/notifications. I had stock Eclair before the update.

The phone will vibrate but no alerts. If I go into the sound settings then try to set Voice call ringtone or Notification ringtone I get this error message:

The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

This f'n sucks. Really really really sucks. How do I fix this????

HELP!!!!

EDIT: This seems to be a system-wide problem. When I try to change the notification settings in ChompSMS I get this error:

The application chompSMS (process com.p1.chompsms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Okay, so I tried to update my modem to EC05 on EB13 using odin, and now whenever I try to boot up I get a picture of a cell phone, caution sign, and computer. Can I fix this? Would Sprint?

EDIT: Nevermind, I odin'd back to stock and it went away.

You can try a factory reset and see if that fixes anything.

Otherwise you might have to you Odin to flash back to stock Eclair 2.1 or use it to flash to Froyo EC05.

uptime means how long does your battery last - (how long does it last before your battery goes down if that makes sense)

before i could go a whole day and text and it would still be at like 40 or 50 % by the end of the day and i send out alot of text. prolly at least 2 or more hundred a day. maybe 30% the least.

I caved and did a factory reset. That seems to have fixed things. But oh brother, getting things back to the way I had them... UGH!

You can try using something like Launcher Pro from the Market. I believe you an backup your homescreen and other things incase of problems in the future.
