^^^THIS did work with the EVOs when they were having issues getting updates, for some users. If my gf does not get it by 3/26 @ 14:00 HRS I'm going to use the .zip method and give up on getting it. My worry is I will jump the gun and then her phone will get notification of needing the update and be stuck with it telling her to update to something she already has and somehow erring out.

A coworker just got her update a few minutes ago this morning so hang in there. Ota is still ongoing.

My wife got hers this morning, she got skipped with the EB13 so had DI18. I had the EB13 and so far don't have the update. I did get another note from Sprint saying new software was "coming soon" for me.

I gained 2mb of memory also - but I think it might be because I am missing my Asphalt 5 Demo
I don't play alot of games so the Demo is just perfect for me when I need a few minutes of entertainment

I got the update notice overnight on my personal phone. Clicked "OK" this morning and it updated on the drive to work. The phone went from stock but rooted DI18 to stock EC05.
I have only found three things so far: 1) I had to remember and then re-type my gmail password. 2) My Samsung analog clock widget was gone. I had to replace it with one from the market. 3) I don't have root anymore.
That's it. Every app, every setting seems to have survived. No messages, contacts or calendar entries lost. No odd camera or SD card bugs.
The kernel is the same (2.6.32.9) as the dev phones I have at work, so I'm not sure what's changed from the various EB releases I have on other handsets to today's "official" EC05.
Pretty Smooth. Now to go re-root.

I did the manual update to EB13 and have been waiting for the EC05 patiently. This morning, I decided to take a look at my phone and noticed that the update.zip file from the manual update was still living on the SD card. (I'm not rooted) Might this little bit of housekeeping be what's keeping the manual updaters among us from seeing EC05?

I've been following the Froyo drama since Sept (?); got OTA dl on drive to work; installed OK & no probs so far. Stock DI18; prev issue w/ contacts sync (sync not finishing & incorrect sync date) resolved; GPS OK, etc. Hoping for the best.

I have an unrooted OTA EB13 Epic and was just informed by a Sprint rep that the OTA EC05 will NOT be coming OTA and that I should visit a local Sprint store for the "possible" update...
My fiancee has a stock DL18 Epic and has not received either OTA as of yet.

I spent 1-1/2 hours on the phone with a Sprint Rep yesterday afternoon, and after trying all her suggestions (I knew wouldn't work, but was baiting her for a 'push' or something else), she suggested I go to a CORPORATE Sprint store and that they would be able to update me after connecting to their computer.
YEAH!!! - RIGHT? HECK NO!!! After leaving work early, driving 45 minutes to get to the store, waiting another 1/2 hour to see a tech, I was told that they don't have the "patch" that was needed and probably wouldn't have it until next week!! ME: "But Tech Support said you'd have it and this would be fixed??" TECH: "Yeah, you're the second person this afternoon that was told that, sorry..." ARRRRGGHHHHHH!!!!!

Just got off the phone with Sprint and was told the same thing. I called before going to the store and was told it would be mid to late next week before they have the update. You would think that those with EB13 botch from February would have been the FIRST to get the update, not the last.
ive been texting for 2 days now on EC05 and no problems. Using handcent. or whatever its called.

The PRL error was happening to my GF's epic last night PRIOR to the update, and could still be (I've not checked it yet) but it could be unrelated. Every single time I checked it it turned off the 3g icon (I assume also turning off 3g) and gave me an error.
Ok... Lunchtime I figured I am tired of waiting so I followed the link to update zip. I was in the middle of downloading it when I got the update pushed to my phone. So far so good.
