Hello everyone,

I need some help with this situation, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently found out that Sprint made another increase in surcharges that have increased my overall bill. I searched these forums and others gathering information about ending my contract without having to pay an ETF.

I called Sprint and much to my surprise =P they kept saying that I did not have the right to end my contract without paying an ETF. They stated that they could make changes to surcharges up to a certain amount and that those changes made would not violate any terms on the contract. I do know that any surcharge made to my account is a material charge and that is grounds for me to cancel my contract.

Is there anyway to get around this issue?

They increased the surchage again? what is it now? 2 dollars a line?

Man, there should be a law where carriers have to tell you the FINAL bill after taxes, fees etc BEFORE you sign up

Yes, I just recently found out. It did not go up by much, but still. I really can't believe that Sprint can actually do this on a contract. Makes me want to try Virgin Mobile or Boost LOL

Here is an update: the Sprint CS that I spoke with said that they have the right to increase the surcharge fee up to $1.99 without having to honor the no ETF.

Unless it is contract related and surcharges, taxes and fees aren't contract related. Your not getting out of paying a ETF. That includes TEP to.

This is true. The key is... Material changes to the contract.

It was a material charge. Of course sprint wants to deny it.

I have bigger fish to fry than a $2 surcharge. I mean Directv jacked theirs up $7, that's a price hike to me. $2 doesn't even buy a gallon of milk or a gallon of gas today.

SURCHARGES are not part of the contract.... Most of those charges are required to keep in with current law... and Every Carrier increases those fee's every year, mostly by pennies.... the only things that CANNOT CHANGE per contract is your BASE PRICE, Plan Price, or Features you get for price... They can LOWER Prices, or UP Allotments, but not the other way around

A buddy told me they recently went up on the asl fee as well. Is that considered a surcharge or can someone cancel their contract because of that?
