Sprint Tri-Band LTE Phone Discussion Thread aka Sprint Spark

Re: Official Sprint Tri-Band LTE Phone Discussion Thread aka Sprint Spark

In the Mega Cities - there is a VERY BIG difference in having a Spark (Tri-band LTE) phone and a Single band device... In the Mega Cities where B41 (Spark) is launched, people are getting consistent ~50Mbps+ Down speeds.... In these same cities, with a 1900-Only LTE phone people are seeing the Congestion set in and are subject to <2Mbps Down during Peak Times. B41 has a Ton more spectrum available to it than either 1900 or 800 will have. Plus the Old Clearwire towers already have the Backhaul in place thanks to WiMax.

Yep big speed differences, just not much in the way of range (maybe on the fringes in an open space area) until the 800 frequency rolls out.

Which is why you need Densely located tower spacing with B41...Sprint will not only be replacing/adding to existing Clearwire towers, but also adding B41 to NV towers, and adding it to DAS, Small Cell sites as well. In an Urban area you will be able to spit in every direction and hit a B41 tower.

AHHHHH! More B41 goodness in the middle of Union Square in NYC.....Just Perfect.

I found network signal info and that even shows LTE signal info so you don't need to go into debug to check it

Re: Official Sprint Tri-Band LTE Phone Discussion Thread aka Sprint Spark

Easiest way is to run signalcheck pro/lite app.

haven't check that app out but this is pretty sweet even has some cool customizations for seeing 4G vs 3G in one graph.

Re: Official Sprint Tri-Band LTE Phone Discussion Thread

Sprint was slated to launch LTE in the Philly area 18 months ago. It is still far from solid and is years behind other carries. They are a sinking ship and their subscriber losses prove it. I tried to be faithful to them but I was paying good money for nonexistent service. Given all of the evidence out there why would anyone stick with them? Unlimited data...when it works I guess.

Why is he a troll? Because he is honest? Sprint in Baltimore was terrible in December of 2013. I had 3g/1x at the inner harbor. Sprint sucks

No they are right, I am a troll. I am also an elf and a bunch of other things depending on the day.

To be serious I still have their service and have not ported the numbers over yet to our new Verizon phones. I was VERY willing to work with Sprint (blind loyalty I guess?) but they just didn't want to budge even though I had documented issues going back 13 or 14 months. I felt it was awfully arrogant of them considering their well documented service issues by outside firms and studies. Not to mention their subscriber losses etc. I am married to my wife...not my cellular company. When I pay someone $200 a month I expect certain things and if not I expect them to makes things right. None of these carries are perfect but you can't have crappy customer service and crappy cellular service at the same time in my book. I called them enough about problems so it validates me saying they have poor customers service. Obviously their coverage will differ from area to area so if you have good coverage and need unlimited data then I am glad it worked out for you. Most of the times you only call customer service when you have service issues and that is when you feel the pain lol.
