Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

Hey all, I have been waiting ALLLLLLL day and I finally got it by doing the following without having to sideload through ADB:

I Force stopped Google services framework and deleted data twice, I then quickly checked for manual update and got it!!!!!

I hope everyone else enjoys this little trick of pure excellence :)

DO NOT DO THIS! DO NOT DO THIS!

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

Is this direct download safe or should I just wait for the OTA to reach me??
If I am not mistaken, that is for rooted users only... Please correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

Could someone please include instructions on installing the update zip for people that don't know how to manually update un-rooted phones.

Guys it doesn't go by location it goes by serial numbers.

Force stopping GSF and clearing data twice x2 worked for me. 👍

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

Has anyone that is rooted (just rooted, no custom recovery or rom, everything stock) received the OTA, and successfully installed the update? If so, is your phone still rooted? Have you rerooted (if so, what root method)? If not successful, what work around did you use, one possibility being installing a custom recovery and flashing the zip? Along the same line, has anyone flashed the downloadable zip posted above? What recovery did you use, and have you encountered any problem? I am considering going this route, however if I can avoid wiping and having to reset everything to my liking (by going the OTA route) this my be worth the wait. Decisions, decisions, which way to go!!

Has your phone been acting up in anyway or having problems from stopping the GSF?

Can't send MMS from Hangouts now...getting them just fine but won't send....had to go back to stock Messaging app in the meantime... SMH

p.s. also found orientation issue with camera app... All pics taken in portrait mode get turned sideways in the gallery and photo app

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

Got the update a little bit ago and so far I love it well worth the wait. Everything is working perfect and it is so easy to notice how much quicker the phone is all apps open faster web browsing seems faster. I have not noticed any bugs or problems so far and have been on kit-Kat for about 2 hours now. Thank you finally sprint!!!

Hate to ask the obvious, but has anyone tried MMS on KitKat yet? To see if it actually works? Also curious if Google Wallet tap an pay will setup now, as it has not worked on the G2 thus far.

Google Wallet Tap-n-Pay works!

Man I want it lol, but I don't want to clear Google frameworks. I'd rather avoid screwing up some apps. :/ guess it's the wait for me.

I understand that forcing it will mess up apps, but is it only for google apps or what? And how could forcing the update screw up our phone?
