Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***
So, heard something interesting yesterday and today regarding OTA updates for Sprint Android phones. Was in a Sprint store regarding an issue with another phone. I mentioned the KitKat update and why it takes so long. At the store 3 of their employees have the G2. Two have received the update and one has not. Apparently it is Google that manages the whole OTA update process. It is a apparently a combination of your LG-G2 serial number and the internal Google system id of your device that determines when you get the update. This makes some sense given the Google Services framework trick to force the update (although I still don't understand why that would put you at the front of the line).
I asked when the rollout ends (so those of us who do not have can have some kind of idea when we might get it). They looked it up and currently there is no end date listed for the deployment. :-(
