Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - Candy coated goodness.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

yeah, had my G2 since November, so you owners who got the phone recently and have Kitkat ahead of earlier adopters are lucky. :) Anyone in FL get it OTA yet? I actually have started going gray some, since I've had the phone, lol, but I think that's just age, however, I've been waiting on this update with much interest.

I don't know who the Google engineer was, but I've done this for every update and never had issues with Google services or notifications.

if you are using google services where your device needs to be registered it registers as a new device, ie. Google Play or Google Music, both of these services will show double of one device if you access it from a browser and after you reset the services it might show as a new device this happened to me on a previous update, so while nothing happens at face value behind the scenes it does

You wouldn't think a 17% increase in speed would be all that noticeable but holy cow lol.

Yeah I got it 😁. Not having any issues with it either. I've done a lot of testing, and as far as the mms problems T-Mobile and AT&T were having I've run across none of them. Everything seems to be stable so far.

Ok, I did a phone backup, Framework Clear and Force Stop, Updated, Installed Backup, Running 4.4.2,without any issues to any apps.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

Worked for me, too. Trick may have been choosing to check for the update before it asked to get location. That could also just be a coincidence. The first time I clicked it and no update, the second time I bypassed it and..

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

Has anyone that is rooted (just rooted, no custom recovery or rom, everything stock) received the OTA, and successfully installed the update? If so, is your phone still rooted? Have you rerooted (if so, what root method)? If not successful, what work around did you use, one possibility being installing a custom recovery and flashing the zip? Along the same line, has anyone flashed the downloadable zip posted above? What recovery did you use, and have you encountered any problem? I am considering going this route, however if I can avoid wiping and having to reset everything to my liking (by going the OTA route) this my be worth the wait. Decisions, decisions, which way to go!!

No one has tried manually updating??

I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but GWallet allows Tap to Pay again.

I said to heck with it and did it too. I now have chocolate on my phone. Going go do a factory reset and reinstall everything.
