I am having the same issue. Has anyone found a fix for this issue?
Thnks

There was a thread on calendar issues. The fix that worked for me was settings> applications> manage apps>all tab>calendar storage> clear data. Believe this will kill any events on phone's local calendar, but since you are trying to get google data back in, maybe that's not an issue for u.

This is great advice for either the calendar or the contacts. If the sync for either isn't working just clear the storage for either

settings> applications> manage apps>all tab>calendar storage> clear data
settings> applications> manage apps>all tab>contact storage> clear data

However, do keep in mind that IT DOES clear out all of the items even the items locally on your phone.

Has anybody tried fixing the camera sport mode by using the camera update firmware option? I have not, but was wondering if anyone has tried that?

i'm trying to figure out how to update to 2.2 but i'm not finding anything on samsung website with the software....any help would be cool!!!

This is the link I used:

How Do I Update The Software On My Sprint SPH-d700 (Epic 4G) Phone To Android 2.2 Froyo EB13 Build From A PC?

I followed the instructions and performed a hard reset after it was complete. I have had no issues with froyo and it solved many issues I had with Eclair. Most who had issues did not want to wipe their phone with a hard reset. I simply wrote down the apps I wanted to keep that were not already included. I have my contacts and calendar synched to google mail which I synched without a problem. I personalized a few setting, and I was done in less than an hour. It took less than 15 minutes to download all the apps I had. There were around 10 I wanted to keep.

Thanks for responding! Really? Is there a place I can find the .apk or am I stuck?
Restoring Asphalt 5 is as easy as reflashing, then before rooting edit the run dot bat file and remove the lines that remove the asphalt and hd demo games. This should fix you. May not matter, I paid for asphalt with 2.1, and it doesn't run on 2.2 for me. Just sits on gameloft screen after doing the update download from gamelofts servers on first run.

Following up, Gameloft has an update to Asphalt 5 if you paid for it. App Store currently shows version 3.1.9 which does not run on EB13 but is included by Sprint as a demo... yeah they didn't test it obviously.

If you go to the Gameloft website and fill out the support form with all appropriate information they will send you a link to download the latest 3.3.0 version which works and has improved graphics compared to the older version. You will need to know date of purchase, if you don't know you can find out by going through your old bills on my.sprint.com until you find it.

Hope this helps.

I saw this yesterday at work and it worked. I came back today at home to install it and the link was dead. Any1 else know where I can update? I was one of the 30 unlucky people whos phone did not get the update so I'm still on eclair. Any one have an idea so I can get flash player?

I rooted yesterday and was going to get a ROM but they all require froyo and the xda links are also dead.

To install Froyo use the update.zip file and follow the instructions below. This process will not wipe the data from your phone.

When I did this I kept getting force close errors, so after installation I did a factory reset. On my wife's phone I copied the contents of her SD card to the PC and had only the udpate.zip file on the SD card and followed the instructions below. No force close issues for her. Then I copied back the files from the SD card.
  1. Download update.zip
  2. Move the file to your SD card on the Epic 4G
  3. Plug in device
  4. Select “Mass Storage”
  5. Drag the “update.zip” into root of your SD card
  6. Boot your device into “Recovery Mode”
    • Pull out battery
    • Put in battery
    • Push and hold the combination of the Volume Down Button, the Camera Button, and the Power Button
  7. Select “apply sdcard:update.zip” from the “Recovery Mode”
  8. The “Home” soft key is the select key.
  9. Congratulations! You now have “EB13? Android 2.2.1 on your Samsung Epic 4G by Sprint!

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

So When Will They Send Us An OTA Fix For EB13 SoI Can Use My Epic Again?

You would think by now they would have sent a patch to try and fix this fiasco.

You are asking something that not even Sprint or Samsung can/will answer.. BTW, I having been running since day one with ZERO problems thus far (now gripes is another story :) ).. Have you had any major problems with EB13??

Yes my phone is so slow now its not funny. I also have a very bad battery drain with 13. Yes I did a master reset then I lost a ton of my apps that I can't find now in the store. Its a mess. I had to go back to my EVO thats working fine on Froyo. No problem with finding the apps either.

Yes. didnt work but patch did. Genocide 0.3a kernel has it built in as well.

I am a complete noob and you seem to know what to do. I have the epic and EB13 factory 2.2.1 and I am having issues with the camera and sport mode. I want to install Genocide as you suggested, but i have no idea how to do it. I have ROMManager, but it wont flash the epic recovery. It will to all the other choices, such as the captivate, facinate, etc.
So, my questions are as follows :
1. How to flash the proper recovery with ROM Manager or use one of the choices instead?
2. how to install genocide 0.3a?

Thank you for all your help

I have a list of things wrong with my phone. Apparently Samsung lied about the vigorous testing for a safe and reliable download. No more samsung phone for me, I should have bought the evo. It had a working 2.2 8 months ago!

So how can so many people report "no issues" when the OTA download was pulled because of issues? They have "special phones" I don't think so!

Not everyone experianced the problems or reasons behind Sammy/Sprint pulling the update. I think those of us who already ran the Froyo DK28 leak didn't have the problems. I never had any of the issues people are reporting since updating to Froyo EB13, but of course I'm running custom ROMs

no issues here whatsoever. Even the action/sport camera mode works great. Updated using the update.zip and then hard reset the phone and reinstalled apps one by one from the market. Did not use a backup tool that restores things that are buggy with froyo. I think this is the key...

I need help updating

I was one of the unlucky ones who's epic did not receive the 2.2 froyo upgrade. I found the update.zip file online and put it on my sd card and went into clockwork and tried to apply sdcard:update.zip but I keep getting an error message Installation aborted.

I went back and wrote down all my apps and contacts, deleted everything else on the sd card. I've cleared the dalvik cache (don't know what that is but i heard it somewhere). I then wiped date/factory restored it to a brand new phone. I've lost everything...good thing I wrote it down. But still no luck. I don't know how to take a screenshot from the clockworkmod recovery so I am going to do my best to write down what I am getting. Maybe someone knows what it means and can help me get the upgrade.

Any1 know what that means? It would be a huge help. Maybe I got a bad update file or something...? All the mirror sites and samsung sites have been pulled so if you have a copy of the file it would be great.

Do you still have Asphalt on your phone. Looks like it checked for that ap and did not find it. The stock update needs all Sprint apps installed to work
