I'm on T-Mobile with a stock V10 and was updated to marshmallow OTA. It's 2 days in and I'm getting poor battery life in stand by. It used to be great. I thought it would get better with doze? Give it time, or do I need to do a factory reset due to the OS upgrade?

Can you post a screen shot of the battery usage screen after a full charge? I say give it some more time. If it continues then yes, factory reset and see if that helps.

Likely it's an app not updated the developer to run efficiently under Marshmallow. I've had the V10 for less than a week, upgraded to 6.0 the first day, and SOT is about the same as what I had with my G4 under Lollipop and Marshmallow. There's some evidence here that a factory reset will also help, and recommended to do that first.

As mentioned, post screen shots so we can take a look. I haven't seen poor battery life on my device since I got it in December.

I get poor battery life when I use my phone. Haha. If the screen is on constantly than I'll see a drain. But that's normal.

My battery life is in constant flux. One day OK the next not so. Looking at the Mugen 6500 mah battery. Still love the phone.

Even after reset I noticed my standby time wasn't particularly great. According to gsam the phone hardly ever entered doze. Even if it sat untouched overnight. Otherwise my battery was fine. What I did was install greenify. I didn't do any app hibernation or anything. I only use the app for its aggressive doze feature. I enabled that and now it enters doze as it should (and much sooner, per app intentions). Now I loose maybe 1 or 2 percent battery overnight (8 to 9hrs) versus 7 to 9 percent. Try out the app, works great for me.

I reset mine after MM update on AT&T, and the standby battery life is about the same it was on Lollipop. I so far did not get the craze about the "doze" at all.
I lost a couple of apps that don't work anymore, a few apps that have messed up showing notification icons and the only benefit so far is that Call Forwarding/Call Waiting now works. Never did before.
So far to me MM was a waste of time to spend setting up the phone from scratch, because even LG Backup refused to work mostly restoring stuff with the excuse that it was supposedly from a "different phone".

Same here... The update is a nightmare. My phone was running flawless until the update... Now it is so screwed up.

My V10 is running buttery smooth before and after the update. The one thing I changed that I think affects the battery more than anything else that I found was the second screen being on constantly . Once I turned that off, battery life improved drastically, at least for me it did.

I noticed that doze constantly kills the temperature display in the notification area that comes with the Weather Underground app. I had to exempt it manually so it stays on.

sure. That's a real-time indicator that requires the app to be live.

So now you're better aware that that function draws power.

It has been a couple days and the battery stand-by is about what I was getting on lollipop. Also, it seemed like the phone was running a little slower on marshmallow. Now, things seem to be running about the same as lollipop. By far the best thing about the update has been the fingerprint scanner improvements. I couldn't even use it pre-update because I use a case, it's working great now.

That's the way mine is. One day great and the next horrible in the same place at the same time.

One big thing I noticed after update is that whenever I reboot the phone it forces me to use a passcode to login the first time instead of fingerprint. After the first time it will accept the fingerprint as always. It also adds an annoying notification telling me I have an SD card installed. Gee. Thanks. Didn't know that already. LOL

You're just reporting what many others have reported to date.

I'm holding off a bit on the update myself. My FPS works, as does my SD card--without the phone telling me it's there.

This is why I am waiting to update on to 6.0 my v10 is running perfect as I want it to be, after work I still have %30 batt left.

I wish I would have never updated. But the constant pop up drove me to do it
