Step Tracking Accuracy?

Regrading the HR sensor, how firm\tight are you strapping the watch on ? The first few times I ran with the watch (and using MapMyRun) it didn't do a good job. I noticed the tighter it is the more accurate. But I'm not entirely convinced it's not just the watch HR sensor, also maybe MapMyRun wasn't displaying\detecting HR correctly. I could be wrong. I do sweat heavily with the humidity but shouldn't impact the reading if it was developed correctly.

It is the watch bc it is a widely reported problem.

It was pretty tight... I've used optical HR sensors on Apple and Garmin devices, and neither of them were as inaccurate as this one!

Mine is 2 weeks old. It tracks half as many steps as my other trackers. Fitbit, Garmin,Polar. I have been wearing another tracker with this one too check. This one gives me 300 steps on average a day. I get 5000 on a lazy day and aim for 10,000 most days. Exchanging via a new purchase and return at Best Buy. The rep there said he has not heard of the issue.

There are a couple of other threads of this nature. Perhaps one of the moderators can combine the threads. My tracker is not accurate at all. As usual, Samsung does not agree that there is a known issue with the step tracker. The only time Samsung seems to step up to the plate is if one of their products blows up, like the Note 7 phones. Besides that, there is no concern.
