Stock browser vs Chrome!

I like chrome but honestly I always revert back to the stock browser.

I like chrome mostly because I like the syncing. But I also don't like to have more than one application that do the same thing. Once I root it I'll most likely freeze or remove stock. Either way there's only going to be 1 browser on my phone Lol.

I'm still surprised there are devices where Chrome isn't the stock browser. IMO that's a HUGE fail. Why bother making an additional browser? I get you might be able to make a better one, but why not put those resources into something that is broken or is missing? IE. battery life, etc.

I use Naked Browser. Flash works and it's the fastest I've used.

Right, and I am not saying it's not great (I haven't used it, so I don't know, but I'd assume it's solid) I'm just so weirded out by things like this, when the browser already exists yet a ton of resources are expended on making another one. The opportunity cost alone seems to outweigh the return (both my opinion of the expected value of each, not actual numbers) which would make any time actually invested be contributing 100% to a negative return on investment. There may be great reasons for doing it too, such as if Chrome doesn't fit with their general UI aesthetics, but my opinion is that things like that should take a back seat to actually pressing matters.

Edit: Corrected auto-corrected typo.

Sort of agree, I wonder out of total time and cost of handset and marketing how much the browser took up, I feel sense 5 should be a full 'package' for the aesthetic reason you said as much as anything else. I'm guessing chrome would be the extra one to download from play if Google didn't insist it was preloaded!

New to android - is there a way to make Chrome my default browser so when I click on links in other apps, it launches Chrome?

So far my favorite android feature is the chrome to phone extension. Love that I can highlight a number on my computer screen, click a button and have the number pre-dialed in my phone.

Thanks!

Ok, I missed it the 1st time I used a link. Is there a way to change my settings? Thanks!

You should just use the stock browser. It's as smooth as safari, and no other browsers are. And I've never had problems with rendering websites.

As soon as I got my htc one first thing I did was go strait to chrome. After hearing about all the great review and how good the stock browser was I decided to give it a try.

I no longer use Chrome.

Yeah the stock browser is that awesome.
