Stock browser won't sync with Chrome now

I did a factory reset on my Tab and I am in the process of putting it all back together. Before the factory reset, it synced my bookmarks with my desktop Chrome quite well. Now it doesn't want to do it. My bookmark list is empty on my Tab.

I checked and Chrome is set to sync through google. I tried resetting the Tab browser to default and activating the sync again... no luck.

When I go into SETTINGS and SYNC and GOOGLE, it shows the BROWSER as checked but with that little white circle/arrows sitting there (not spinning).

Anyone have experience with this to share?

It turns out this is a relatively widespread problem. I found it reported by Transformer and Xoom users as well. I can't find a solution. I am now using Chromemarks but it doesn't integrate into the browser itself.
