Stock email app wont sync

I want to sync my hot mail account with the stock email app and it just keeps saying "Waiting for sync. Email will appear soon. "
I'm entering all my information correctly. Tried rebooting. I tried force closing the email app itself and none of it worked. I'm tired of using a third party email app

Well, Hotmail was recently updated to Outlook.com. There may be some issues for a while. Have you tried deleting the account and setting it up again?

I have my outlook.com (formerly hotmail) address syncing via exchange setup on the stock Email app just fine.

I tried deleting my account and restarting it on the phone and its been the same
