Stock Text App

I had the original RAZR Maxx. The text program on this new Maxx is very plain. Is there a way to make changes to the font or colors? I would like to see a color differentiation between the texts.

try downloading Verizon Messages from the Play Store. It's kind of sluggish but I use it because it allows me to use emojis with iPhone users that I know (same ones) and also allows me to change the font colors. Also, syncs with my Nexus 7 tablet.

There's a couple good text handlers I used to use pre Razr, since it's built in wasn't objectionable. SMS Pro, I think...and Chomp. I'm not a rooter.

Just saw this is for the Razr Maxx not the Maxx that just came out?? Wanting to confirm because you're under the wrong Forum if it's for the Razr model

I second the verizon Messages. I even send the app to friends with non verizon phones. You can send group texts and make the background dark to save battery. The colored text blocks (emojis) make texting more fun and easier to read.

If even need to replace a stock sms app - after trying all the major ones, I always chose Chomp - just perfect balance of customization and functionality - nothing super crazy and very light and responsive.

Yup. I do this with my tethered Nexus 7 2013.
