Straight Talk phone using Verizon towers?

Here is a recent list of Straighttalk phones on the Verizon network. If there is a C at the end of the model number it is on the Verizon network.

iPhone 4
iPhone 4s
iPhone 5
Huawei H66C Ascent Y
LG L75C Optimus Zip
LG L38C Optimus
Samsung 950C Galaxy S Showcase
Samsung S720C
Samsung Galaxy Proclaim S720
Unimax U670C Max Bravo

Now, if someone could tell me which of these phones I could by used and not have any problems activating with Straighttalk that would be great. I need a phone that is compatible with Ibotta. For some reason my LG Optimus Dynamic (L38C) doesn't work for them.

I believe that in the lower left corner of the phone package it will say
GSM or CDMA if it says CDMA V that is verizon the other cdma is sprint.

The GSM is ATT or T mobile, this is also true for Net 10 and tracfones.

On the front of the box There should be a code like the above post CDMA-V =Verizon CMDA-S = Sprint GSM-A=AT&T and GSM-T= T-Mobile Hope this helps you out

That is not true, straight talk still uses verizon and tmobile towers, and also on the s3 uses sprint towers, so you should check your facts. I know this because I am a straight talk user and so is my kids dad and his phone runs on verizon towers.

Straight talk does use verizon towers, and tmobile towers, and the s3s run on sprint, i just spent four hours on the phone with customer service for straight talk the other day, and that is the information they gave me. my boys dad has his straight talk phone and they checked his number and it is run on verizon towers, but my s3 is on sprint towers (which is stupid and sucks)

I just switch from Verizon to Straight Talk on Verizon Towers. My Bionic did not work (because it is a 4G) but my older Droid X does.... Only 3G phones work on Straight Talk. I am very happy with my savings and I get the same reception as I previously had.

I always take 20 pics to get one good shot.

Another option is Verizon's new prepaid for 60$/month unlimited talk text & 2GB of data or $70 for 4 GB. The LG phone for $129 looks decent - dual core processor 8GB & micro SD expansion.

This 8Gb is what turns me off from these prepaid phones. Must have 32 gb at the least and I won't have less than that. Should I ever have to choose , I would go back to a basic phone before I would get one with 8gb or even 16 gb. Not interested at all in one with an sd card slot as I do not use sd cards nor do I care to. So I guess I will stay with expensive Verizon and continue to let it RIP me off. But then , we are fools and they know it. That is why their prices are so high . They know we suckers will pay the price.

Great thread here, as it's always always nice to learn something new. Just to add my 2 cents on Strait Talk wireless, I'm currently using an SCH-S738C and on Verizon network. Far as I know it's easily verified by dialing *2 and I get a Verizon operator.

Samsung : SCH-S738C aka
the Galaxy Centura

When you look at the front of the Straight Talk box, in the lower left corner you will see a very small rectangle with either: CDMA-S or CDMA-V or GSM.

CDMA-S = Spring Network towers
CDMA-V = Verizon Network towers
GSM = AT&T towers

Now when you buy a phone, if you can't see the front of the box, you can't determine what tower they use unless you already know or you can find it on google which, good luck... all I found was some ***** claiming Verizon and Straight Talk had "parted ways".

But aio is way better. A few bucks more but 128kbps throttle after high speed cap is reached.

No bs about teathering
