Strange behavior of headphone jack

Anybody seeing this...the jack detects when I plug in my headphones but does not detect when I unplug them.

Yep, I've had this happen a couple times already. First time was on an airplane, had the headphones in but then felt the speaker vibrating. Had to unplug then replug the headphones to fix it.
